Full job description

We’re Sienci Labs. We’ve made it our business to bring previously industrial-only manufacturing technologies to the masses. Our company’s focus is on CNC routers. Just as 3D printing acts as an additive manufacturing technology to build up unique parts and products, CNC routers act as a subtractive manufacturing technology to remove material from a blank to create a finished part or product. We sell to over 70 countries, under our flagship AltMil and LongMill brands.

Position Summary:
As a Junior Motion Graphics Designer, you will support the creation of motion graphics, video content and 3D visuals for marketing, product launches, education and social media.

You’ll work closely with the Brand Manager and Marketing team to produce content that helps explain complex engineering concepts in a visually engaging and easy-to-understand way. This role blends motion graphics, basic-to-intermediate 3D animation, video editing and graphic design, with opportunities to grow into more advanced product visualization and animation systems over time.

You do not need to be an expert in everything—we are looking for strong fundamentals, creativity and a willingness to learn. Sienci Labs is a fast-growing company, that fosters a collaborative, supportive and opportunistic environment. If you're ready to roll with the punches at a tech-foraging, industry-defining company, then we'd love to hear from you.

Candidates looking to jump start their career are encouraged to apply.

Tasks and duties include but not limited to:

  • Create motion graphics and simple-to-intermediate animations for social media, integrated marketing, machine education and product launches
  • Design illustrations and visual storytelling assets that simplify technical and engineering concepts.
  • Assist in creating 3D product visuals and animations in Blender, with guidance and feedback from the team
  • Edit video content for product demos, tutorials, promotional materials, and educational content
  • Develop supporting visual assets such as icons, infographics, UI graphics, and marketing visuals
  • Help translate engineering and product concepts into clear, visually engaging content through both illustration and motion
  • Support storyboarding and visual development for motion, illustration and video projects
  • Contribute to video post-production tasks such as basic compositing, transitions, audio syncing and color correction
  • Maintain organized project files, assets and templates.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable motion and illustration assets to improve workflow efficiency
  • Support consistency in visual style across marketing and communication materials
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and bring ideas for campaigns and visual storytelling
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams when needed to understand technical concepts
  • Explore new tools, techniques and AI-assisted workflows to improve creative output and efficiency

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Animation, Digital Media or a related field
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in motion graphics, animation, video production, or digital content creation (including internships, freelance or strong portfolio work)
  • Working knowledge of Blender, including basic-to-intermediate modeling, animation, lighting, and rendering.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially: After Effects; Premiere Pro; Illustrator; Photoshop
  • Strong understanding of core design and motion principles, including: composition; typography; colour theory; visual hierarchy; animation timing and storytelling
  • Good understanding of visual composition, including basic lighting and camera framing principles
  • Ability to create clean, engaging motion graphics and video content with attention to detail
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating motion design, video editing, or 3D/visual work (student, freelance or professional)
  • Ability to take feedback, iterate quickly and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in 3D animation, product visualization, and technical visual storytelling.

Bonus:

  • Experience with AI tools that support creative workflows
  • Exposure to product visualization, engineering, or technical subject matter.
  • Photography or videography experience
  • Experience creating content for platforms such as YouTube, Instagram or similar.
  • Interest in manufacturing, hardware, robotics or maker culture.

Work Perks:

  • Access to a workshop for personal CNC and woodworking projects
  • Collaborative team environment
