Who we need

Reporting to the Head of Revenue Operations and Global Business Development, we are looking for a Business Development Representative to join our team. As our new Business Development Representative, you will conduct research on prospects and initiate contact through phone calls, emails, InMails, and targeted campaigns. You will be instrumental in securing prospective clients' interest and scheduling meetings with our sales team. Your efforts will expand our visibility and influence in the market by managing both inbound and outbound leads.

We have a hybrid work model, with the requirement to work out of our headquarters in Oakville once a week. In addition, you may be invited to join the team 1-2 times a month on-site for sales meetings or social events.

How you will make an impact:

  • Generate leads. Leveraging Apollo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, you will find hidden and not-so-hidden prospects and pursue them relentlessly. You will determine if they are the right target, what marketing content to leverage, and what approach to use for each of your leads.
  • Secure meetings. You will successfully set up 3-5 client meetings monthly, tracking all details in Salesforce.
  • Craft messaging. You will research inbound and outbound leads to determine the challenges that plant managers, engineers, and other teams face accessing and interpreting real-time data.

You will bring:

  • The experience. You have exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills gained through cold outreach and prospecting. You can independently own and meet your deliverables. You can both handle rejection and overcome objections, influencing without authority. You have experience or can quickly come up to speed with leveraging a CRM and other databases and networks to find leads.
  • The ownership and drive. You are a self-starter. You have the grit and determination to research companies, plan campaigns, create a communication cadence, and leverage content to gain access to hard-to-reach contacts who will benefit the most from our solution. You take pride in helping people engage with technology - and exceeding your targets. You are continuously seeking knowledge and opportunities.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have exceptional, highly adaptable communication skills, able to express a value proposition to stakeholders within manufacturing environments, including Plant Managers, Engineers, VPs of Ops, COOs, and Continuous Improvement Specialists. You can navigate customer anxiety, respond with urgency, and translate technical solutions for a non-technical audience.

  4. A final in-person presentation that you will be asked to prepare in advance.
