What it means to be Director of Marketing

We get it, you want to know what you’re signing up for before you apply, right? This is what you need to know. We’re looking for a Director of Marketing (Demand Generation & Performance Marketing) to own and scale customer acquisition, optimize marketing performance, and drive revenue growth. This role is perfect for a senior-level demand generation leader who thrives in a high-impact, hands-on role while managing a small but growing team.

This is a player-coach role—initially, you’ll be hands-on in execution while leading a team responsible for performance marketing, paid media, CRO, and lead generation. You’ll report directly to the CEO and play a key strategic role in shaping our growth marketing efforts.

As a Director of Marketing at Leadpages, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Own and execute the demand generation and performance marketing strategy to drive leads, trials, and revenue across paid, affiliate and organic channels.

  • Oversee and optimize multi-channel acquisition campaigns across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms.

  • Manage and allocate paid media budgets to maximize ROI and CAC efficiency.

  • Develop and execute conversion rate optimization (CRO) strategies to improve funnel efficiency from ad clicks to signups.

  • Own and evolve the Leadpages brand strategy, ensuring consistency in messaging, positioning, and visual identity across all marketing channels to drive awareness and credibility.

  • Leverage marketing analytics, attribution modeling, and customer data to refine targeting and optimize growth efforts.

  • Collaborate with Revenue Operations, Product, and Sales to refine messaging, audience segmentation, and lifecycle marketing strategies.

  • Build, mentor, and lead a small but high-performing marketing team, with the opportunity to scale as the company grows.

  • Report directly to the CEO, providing data-driven insights, recommendations, and forecasting models.

What we would like to see in you

Every Redbricker has three things in common: We’re curious, passionate, and good-humoured. We try our best to balance hard work with good, old-fashioned fun. As a Director of Marketing at Leadpages, there are extra specialties we’re on the lookout for:

  • A senior-level or director level marketing leader with 5+ years of experience in demand generation and performance marketing, preferably in SaaS (B2B or SMB markets).

  • Proven expertise in performance marketing (paid search, paid social, programmatic, retargeting, affiliate, etc.), with a track record of scaling acquisition channels profitably.

  • Strong analytical mindset, experienced in marketing attribution, A/B testing, and growth analytics (Google Analytics, Looker, Mixpanel, or similar).

  • Comfortable owning budgets, forecasting, and performance reporting at the executive level.

  • Experienced in managing and mentoring a small team while still being hands-on.

  • Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing and marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Marketo, etc.).

  • A self-starter with a bias for action, who thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
