What it means to be Ad Ops Developer

We get it, you want to know what you’re signing up for before you apply, right? This is what you need to know. As a Ad Ops Developer at Redbrick, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Frontend Development: Implement and maintain frontend components using Vue/Nuxt for ad placement, user interface enhancements, and real-time bidding integration.
  • Ad Tech Setup & Optimization: Implement, troubleshoot, and optimize Prebid.js for header bidding across web properties.
  • Collaboration with Publishers: Work directly with publishers to ensure seamless ad integration and troubleshoot delivery issues.
  • Ad Stack Management: Manage SSPs, ad servers, and other monetization platforms to optimize revenue. Experience with video monetization is an asset.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor performance metrics (e.g., viewability, latency) and address any ad delivery issues proactively.
  • Reporting and Automation: Run experiments to optimize ad placements and provide performance analysis to stakeholders.

After 1 week:

  • You have an understanding of the software we build and are starting to familiarize yourself with the development process.
  • You will have started or completed a couple of small tasks.
  • Merged in code that will be released to our users.

After 1 month:

  • You will be breaking down large tasks and building new features into projects.
  • Coordinating with design teams on updates and additions, as well as debugging errors and implementing fixes.

After 6 months:

  • You will be taking the lead on architecting and building new ad tech features into our various websites and web applications, creating new products, and various MVPs.
  • You will have all the knowledge necessary to handle releasing updates, and the ability to track the success of new changes from start to finish.

What we would like to see in you

Every Redbricker has three things in common: We’re curious, passionate, and good-humoured. We try our best to balance hard work with good, old-fashioned fun. As a Ad Operations Developer at Redbrick, there are extra specialties we’re on the lookout for:

  • 4+ years of experience in advertising operations or a related field, with exposure to web publishing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Prebid.js and programmatic advertising principles.
  • Experience with Vue.js/Nuxt.js and general JavaScript frontend development.
  • Familiarity with ad servers (e.g., Google Ad Manager) and SSP integrations.
  • Strong debugging skills for troubleshooting ad-related issues (latency, broken ads, etc.).
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and web performance best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with technology and business teams.

Salary range: $80,000-$95,000 CAD
