Sales Engineer
We are changing the world of access control by providing what others cannot - a better user experience, patented technology to digitize access control and operational data to better capture real-time activity.
Your role at Sera4would be Reporting directly to the VP of Global Sales. The Sera4 Sales Engineer will support Sera4’s commercial team and is the principal pre-sales support resource for the Sera4 sales team, its customers and partners.
Territory: Global
Location: Ontario, Canada (Kitchener/Waterloo area preferred)
What you’ll do:
· Establishing yourself as an expert in the Sera4 solution, you will be responsible for all pre-sales technical support aspects for our business, which will assist the sales team achieve their sales goals and quotas.
· Preparing, developing, and delivering technical presentations to explain our company's products or services to customers and partners.
· Discussing and qualifying equipment needs and solution requirements with customers and collaborating with our internal teams to assemble the best possible solution for the client.
· Collaborating with the sales team and directly with the customer to understand the application requirements and provide technical pre-sales support.
· Researching and developing integrated access control solutions and products to meet customers' technical requirements and application needs.
· Researching and sharing with our company and the customer, industry information on all aspects of the access control and electric locking hardware industry.
· Leading all aspects of customer or partner proof of concepts including the POC plan, installation, and deployment of products, POC reporting and customer/partner follow-up.
· Trialing and/or troubleshooting our solution in the field, at home or in the company lab.
· Developing and leading all pre-sales training for customers.
· Developing and leading all technical training for partners.
· Soliciting and logging client feedback throughout your pre-sale engagements.
· Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to engineering teams throughout the organization.
· Responding to the technical aspects of RFPs, RFQs and tenders.
· Training other members of the sales and marketing team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services.
· Installing Sera4 product and accompanying 3rd party locking hardware in the field in support of proof of concepts and for any pre-sales, in field customer demo.
· Attend field marketing events such as tradeshows (booth duty) and seminars (presentations and content delivery) to represent Sera4.
Who you are, your experience, background, and credentials:
· 5-7 years of B2B technical experience required in Canada AND the US in access control and security technology.
· Access control industry background required.
· Electric/electromechanical locking hardware experience required.
· Hands-on installation and troubleshooting experience of access control technologies and electric locking hardware.
· Experience with access control platform integration via API an asset.
· Strong CRM experience required (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).
· Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word is required.
· Valid passport and ability to travel throughout North America, Central & South America and possibly overseas (up to 30%-40% travel).
· CET accreditation an asset.
· University degree an asset.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Passion for technology, creative thinker, and problem solver.
· Access control application centric skills.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Adaptable, influential, flexible, and highly ambitious.
· Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills, teamwork, ability to work in a collaborative environment and independently - all with a positive attitude.
· Required proficiency in English. Proficiency in Spanish/Portuguese/Arabic/French are all viewed as assets for this role.
