Who you are:

The Financial Controller will be key in managing the Financial Accounting operations adding value by producing relevant and meaningful financial reports and analysis to support data driven decision making throughout the organization.

What you will do:

  • Produce and distribute various management reports and analysis to support business operations and decision making.
  • Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards (whichever applies). Oversee accounts payables, accounts receivables, inventory management and month end processes.
  • Create and document internal controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and safeguard the assets of the organization.
  • Ensure audit readiness and liaison with external auditors so that audits are completed on time and within budget.
  • Comply, prepare and pay (as required) tax and related forms & returns in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department for achieving the department's goals and objectives by providing leadership and mentorship of the Accounting Team.
  • Suggest and implement efficiency improvements including automation and integration of business tools and documentation of policies and procedures.

We want you to succeed, so you will need:

  • 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience with companies with multiple subsidiaries in different jurisdictions in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years in a leadership role managing the month end close process and preparing financial reports
  • Proven track record in successful team management; overseeing direct reports, conducting performance appraisals, and talent development to maximize team performance and potential
  • A resilient, flexible, solution oriented approach to addressing areas of improvement, likes digging into issues and enjoys taking leadership in addressing problems
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Self-directed, highly motivated and energetic
  • Outstanding work ethic with strong commitment to quality and delivering on time
  • Comfortable as an individual contributor, collaborative team member and leader
  • Qualified CPA

Nice to have:

  • Public practice experience working with manufacturing clients
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
  • A track record of improving productivity and implementing improvements that drive efficiencies and business performance
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
