At Sandbox we are a multidisciplinary team at the intersection of media, design and technology and have a passion for learning. While Sandbox is based in Toronto, we’re building a remote design and animation team in Barcelona. We are currently accepting applicants based in either Toronto or Barcelona.

The Role:

We are seeking an intermediate graphic designer to join our team on a full-time basis to support our design and animation teams. The ideal candidate not only has sharp graphic design skills, but also experience conceptualizing and developing assets for animation and motion design. Under the guidance of our Design Lead, you’ll apply your expertise to a variety of graphic design and animation projects, through research/conceptualization, storyboarding, design, execution and collaboration with Sandbox’s media and design team.

What you bring to the table:

• Degree or diploma in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience .
• Strong graphic design skills.
• Innovative when proposing typography, colour, balance and new layouts.
• Experience creating assets for motion design.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud programs and Figma
• Effective communicator, team player, and self-starter.
• Comfortable meeting tight deadlines, working on multiple projects at a time and remaining flexible through revisions
• Ability to brainstorm innovative design ideas and manage project files efficiently.
• Detailed-oriented.

Bonus if you…

• Have demonstrated illustration skills, for both animation and print mediums
• Have some experience with 2D animation techniques (ie character rigging, motion design) using Adobe After Effects
• Have experience with both video and audio editing
• Are bilingual or speak some French or Spanish

Location

The offices of Sandbox Inc. are located in downtown Toronto, just south of Trinity Bellwoods park. Currently, our Toronto team operates on a hybrid model: we work some days in the office and some days remotely.

We are looking to build a remote design and animation team in Barcelona. Should you be based in Barcelona, we will work with you to ensure you can work from Barcelona while collaborating effectively with our Toronto team. Occasional travel to Toronto may be required.
