About the role

As a summer Product Design Intern at RVezy, you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects from start to finish, gaining hands-on experience in the full design process. You’ll play an important role in shaping user experiences, bringing fresh ideas to the table, and implementing changes based on best design practices.

This role is a balance between creative problem-solving and design system maintenance. You’ll have the freedom to explore new design concepts, propose UX improvements, and enhance existing user flows, all while ensuring consistency within our Figma-based style guide and design system.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the design process by creating wireframes, user flows, and prototypes for web and mobile experiences.
  • Work within RVezy’s design system in Figma, maintaining and evolving the style guide for consistency across products.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and engineers to understand their systems, style guides, and best practices, ensuring seamless implementation of designs.
  • Conduct QA testing on design implementations, reviewing built products before launch to ensure they align with design specifications and function as intended.
  • Contribute ideas and propose UX/UI improvements, helping enhance the platform’s usability and overall design.
  • Assist in design quality assurance (QA) by identifying inconsistencies, refining interactions, and ensuring a polished user experience.

Competencies, skills, and attributes

  • Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Figma and a basic understanding of design systems and style guides.
  • Strong visual design skills with attention to typography, color, and layout.
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices for web and mobile interfaces.
  • Ability to collaborate with developers and engineers, ensuring design feasibility and consistency.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a willingness to conduct QA testing and ensure pixel-perfect implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically about design decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design ideas and feedback clearly.
  • A portfolio showcasing design work (academic, personal, or professional projects are all welcome!).
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude, with a passion for UX/UI design and digital experiences.

Location

The role is in-person and will require you to work from our office in Centretown.

If you’re passionate about crafting intuitive digital experiences and eager to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, this is your chance to make a real impact on a growing platform that helps thousands of RV owners and travelers across North America.

RVezy perks

  • Employee recognition platform to reward employees’ hard work.
  • Frequent social events and a steady supply of coffee and snacks in the office.
  • Dog-friendly work environment in the Ottawa office.
  • Flexible work hours and a relaxed dress code.
  • Company laptop and equipment provided.
