About the role

We’re looking for a product designer to join our team and help advance RVezy's user experience. We deliver a consistent brand and customer experience across our marketing communications, website, product, and user documentation. As a product designer, you will play a key role in every part of the design process, from customer discovery to conception, to UI/UX to pre-launch validation and post-launch assessment. You will get to dive into the problem spaces across the customer journey. You will be part of an open and collaborative design community.

Key responsibilities

• Based on product requirements, create interactive prototypes to validate concepts with users and internal stakeholders.
• Work with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to discover and understand the user’s needs and bring solutions to life in our product.
• Own the user experience for RVezy and advocate for the user alongside product managers and developers.
• Solve complex customer problems identified by your team with broad concepts and refine them to simple and useful solutions with specific outcomes.

• Collaborate with engineers during the implementation phase to ensure the product meets the design's intent and quality bar.
• Collaborate with other product designers to evolve our visual systems and standards

Competencies, skills, and attributes:

• At least four years of experience as a product designer.
• Strong understanding of web and mobile design fundamentals.
• Attention to detail.

• A natural curiosity for asking insightful questions, actively listening, and engaging with problems.
• Collaborative and team-oriented with the ability to communicate with developers, business stakeholders, and other product designers.
• Gives and receives feedback gracefully in order to create better outcomes for the team.
• Proficient in Figma.
• Experience documenting design requirements for developers and product managers.

• Knowledge of current product design trends and technology.
• An eye for aesthetics and the ability to judge designs objectively.
• Experience illustrating iconography and other design elements within a UI context.

• A portfolio that demonstrates high-caliber digital product design, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect designs.

Bonus points if you:

• Are comfortable working in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Can showcase your design process with design artifacts, multiple iterations, and prototypes.
• Have an understanding of the application and the importance of design systems and brand guidelines.

Location

You must be located in Ottawa, Ontario. The role will require you to work from our office in Centretown 2-3 days per week.
