Working closely with the HR Operations Team, the HR Specialist - Payroll & Benefits is responsible for supporting payroll processing, benefits administration, and providing day-to-day support to employees and internal stakeholders. This role ensures accurate payroll execution and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

What The Job Is All About:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for Canadian employees ensuring accuracy and timelines are met.
  • Ensure payroll data integrity by reviewing employee information and payroll inputs prior to processing
  • Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) and support responses to Service Canada inquiries
  • Process terminations, including calculation of final pay and vacation entitlements
  • Process and upload variable earnings including commissions, incentives, and other pay adjustments
  • Support benefits administration and coordinate monthly billings with Accounting.
  • Assist with year-end activities including reconciliations and preparation of payroll-related reports and forms
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and timesheet entries in a timely and professional manner
  • Support compliance activities and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in payroll and HR-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for all G/L posting and month-end reporting for all payroll transactions
  • Review and reconcile all payroll balance sheet accounts monthly

Who You Are:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
  • 2–5 years’ experience in payroll, benefits, accounting, or HR operations
  • Certification in payroll (PCP) is an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll procedures and payroll related tax filing
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll systems (Dayforce or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Salary Information:

The pay range for this role in Canada is: $66,500 - $92,000 CAD

The listed salary reflects the pay range for a role based in Canada. Compensation may differ based on alternate locations if listed. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, knowledge, and role-specific qualifications, and may be adjusted to recognize candidates accordingly.
