We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Senior Manufacturing Product Engineering Specialist to lead the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing. This role sits at the critical intersection of Engineering, R&D, and Production in ensuring designs translate into efficient, scalable, and high-quality manufacturing outcomes. What The Job Is All About
- Lead New Product Introductions (NPI): Drive the launch of new products into manufacturing, coordinating cross-functional teams and tracking progress to ensure successful outcomes.
- Bridge R&D and Manufacturing: Align timelines, expectations, and deliverables while identifying and mitigating manufacturing risks early in the design phase.
- Design for Excellence (DFX): Participate in DFX reviews and collaborate with technical teams to resolve manufacturability challenges.
- Change Management: Review ECOs and approve MCO status changes, ensuring accurate product structures and configuration control.
- Manufacturing Readiness: Ensure production readiness by managing schedules, resolving issues, and coordinating activities across teams.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, equipment, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze yields, defects, process times, and field returns to drive product and process improvements.
- Quality Collaboration: Partner with QA teams to develop and refine quality control plans, test strategies, and inspection processes.
- Cost Optimization: Lead cost-reduction initiatives without compromising product quality.
- Ownership & Autonomy: Plan and manage your own work while understanding broader project and business impacts.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related technical field
- Strong understanding of electronics and embedded systems
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) and configuration management
- Solid understanding of electronic manufacturing processes and best practices
- Training or experience in project/program management
- 7+ years in manufacturing or a high-tech environment
- 4+ years managing multiple concurrent projects
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and persistent
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable managing competing priorities in dynamic environments
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Open to feedback and skilled at sharing knowledge
The pay range for this role in Canada is: $ 93K - $120K CAD
The listed salary reflects the pay range for a role based in Canada. Compensation may differ based on alternate locations if listed. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, knowledge, and role-specific qualifications, and may be adjusted to recognize candidates accordingly.
