Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Technical Support Specialist is a key member of the Production Support Team, providing hands-on technical support directly on the manufacturing shop floor. This role is responsible for maintaining stable and efficient line operations by working alongside SMT Operators, proactively monitoring performance, and responding to issues in real time. This role requires a high level of independence, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a clear understanding of the operational and business impact of decisions.

What The Job Is All About:
- SMT LINE SUPPORT: Act as the primary technical support resource on the SMT production line, working alongside operators to ensure stable, efficient, and continuous operation
- REAL-TIME ISSUE RESOLUTION: Monitor production activities and respond to issues including part fallout, equipment faults, and process deviations
- PROGRAMMING SUPPORT Support the production line by identifying and troubleshooting programming-related issues and escalate to Programmers
- PROCESS SUPPORT & ESCALATION: Identify and respond to process-related issues including stencil design concerns, printer performance issues, fixture or tooling challenges, and component placement limitations, and escalate to Process Engineering
- NPI BUILD SUPPORT: Provide hands-on support during prototype builds, ensuring adherence to build instructions and contributing feedback to support product and process improvements prior to full production release
- EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: Help the Equipment Maintenance Technician with routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- DAILY REPORTING: Assist with creating daily reports for Production Management, Product and Production Engineering teams
- Demonstrated working knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and production flow
- Ability to troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment and support programming-related issues
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced production environment
- Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate across all teams
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and adherence to standard processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on involvement in production support or similar roles
- Experience working with SMT lines and understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment behavior, and common failure modes is strongly preferred
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent practical experience in a manufacturing environment

Salary Information:
The pay range for this role in Canada is: $55,500-72,500 CAD

Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, knowledge, and role-specific qualifications, and may be adjusted to recognize candidates accordingly.
