As a Shift Supervisor, SMT you will be responsible for leading daily SMT production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are consistently achieved. This role provides hands-on leadership on the manufacturing floor, coordinating resources, supporting team development, and driving operational efficiency.

Who you report to: Production Manager

What The Job Is All About:

  • Along with the Production Manager, support and supervise daily SMT shift operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery commitments are achieved
  • Monitor productivity, capacity, and resource utilization; drive cross-training initiatives to ensure operational flexibility and adequate coverage
  • Review production schedules and coordinate with upstream/downstream departments to align output with shipping deadlines
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing Support, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including 5S, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • Investigate production and quality issues, determine root causes, and escalate complex or ongoing concerns to the appropriate engineering teams
  • Ensure all work performed complies with approved procedures, safety standards, PPE requirements, ESD and company policies
  • Maintain accurate shift reports, track KPIs, and communicate performance updates and critical events to the Production Manager
  • Support the Production Manager on employee-related matters including hiring, performance management, time-off approvals, and team development
  • Coordinate team members are properly trained on equipment capabilities, new processes, and standard operating procedures
  • Work closely with the Maintenance team to ensure preventative and corrective maintenance activities are completed on schedule

Who You Are:

  • High School diploma
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Working knowledge of computers and software programs such as MS Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid aptitude for learning
  • Available to work on a weekly rotational shift: Days/Afternoons
  • Capable of following procedures and work logically
  • Well-organized, very detail oriented, and able to work on multiple project

Bonus Points If You Have The Following:

  • College diploma and/or additional education and computer courses are strong assets
  • Previous experience in a Supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with machine operation

Salary Information:

The pay range for this role in Canada is: $63,000 - $75,000 CAD

Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, knowledge, and role-specific qualifications, and may be adjusted to recognize candidates accordingly.
