About The Role
The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist is an individual contributor role responsible for supporting the design, industrialization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes across assigned product and process families.
Operating with growing independence, this role applies established manufacturing engineering principles to new product introductions (NPI), production support, and process improvement initiatives. The Specialist partners closely with Senior Manufacturing Engineers, Operations, Quality, and Product Engineering to ensure processes are capable, compliant, and scalable, while continuing to build technical depth and professional judgment. This role is aligned to where work is largely self‑directed within defined scope, technical decisions are guided by standards and senior oversight, and impact is focused at the cell, line, or product family level.
Reporting & Work Arrangement
- Reports to: Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
- Work Arrangement: On‑site / Office‑based
- Support manufacturing process design, documentation, and optimization for assigned product and process families
- Contribute to manufacturing readiness activities for NPI and engineering changes, including DFM/DFA reviews, risk assessments, and readiness checklists
- Support the evaluation, implementation, and validation of manufacturing tooling, fixtures, automation, and production equipment
- Assist with technical inputs to capital investments, including data collection, vendor evaluations, and performance verification
- Help define and execute process capability studies, monitoring plans, and control strategies
- Analyze manufacturing performance data (yield, scrap, defects, throughput) and support corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in structured problem‑solving and root cause analysis activities related to production and test issues
- Create, maintain, and update manufacturing standards, work instructions, and process documentation
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners in Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering
- Support project execution through task planning, milestone tracking, and delivery of assigned technical outputs
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
- Typically, 3–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronics, electrical, or electromechanical environments
- Working knowledge of IPC standards and structured manufacturing systems
- Experience supporting NPI, process industrialization, or production readiness activities
- Demonstrated ability to apply structured problem‑solving and data analysis techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams
- Exposure to regulated, audited, or quality‑controlled manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting process capability improvements, yield enhancement, or cost reduction initiatives
- Demonstrated proficiency with CAD
- Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs, SPC, and continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma concepts)
- Experience transitioning products from development into sustained production under guidance

Salary Information:
The pay range for this role in Canada is: $78,000 – $97,000 CAD
The listed salary reflects the pay range for a role based in Canada. Compensation may differ based on alternate locations if listed. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, knowledge, and role-specific qualifications, and may be adjusted to recognize candidates accordingly.
