The Manufacturing hardware Test Developer plays a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of Ross Video products. This intermediate-level technical role focuses on developing and supporting automated and semi-automated test solutions for electronic hardware, working closely with R&D, firmware, and manufacturing teams.

You will contribute to test strategy, build and maintain test tools, analyse results, drive continuous improvement across test processes, and balance hands-on technical execution with growing independence and judgment

What the job is all about:

Test Development & Execution

  • Design, develop, and support automated and semi-automated test solutions to validate product functionality, performance, and reliability
  • Develop and maintain custom test tools, fixtures, and scripts to meet quality and reliability standards
  • Create, update, and execute test plans for new products in collaboration with R&D and Test Development teams

Hardware & Manufacturing Support

  • Perform functional, performance, and reliability testing on electronic hardware assemblies and systems
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams for test station deployment and product bring-up
  • Ensure test procedures comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements

Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Produce clear, professional test reports and technical documentation for stakeholders
  • Contribute to improving test methodologies, coverage, efficiency, and reliability

Collaboration & Ownership

  • Work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing engineers to resolve issues
  • Plan and manage your own work in alignment with project timelines
  • Continuously develop technical skills and stay current with industry trends
  • Make informed technical decisions with awareness of business and manufacturing impact

Who you are:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Technical Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of demonstrated professional experience in electronic hardware testing and development, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Detailed understanding of electronic circuit theory, including digital components (CPU, FPGA, Flash, etc.)
  • Experience with PCBA manufacturing processes and best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCB design files
  • Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, video/audio analyzers, DVMs, generators, etc.)
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, TCL, AutoIt, or similar)
  • Knowledge of data acquisition and control interfaces (TCP/IP, RS232, USB, I2C, CANBUS)
  • Experience with JTAG and Boundary Scan testing
  • Knowledge of broadcast industry standards and implementations
