As a Shift Supervisor, SMT you will be responsible for leading daily SMT production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are consistently achieved. This role provides hands-on leadership on the manufacturing floor, coordinating resources, supporting team development, and driving operational efficiency.

What the job is all about:
- Along with the Production Manager, support and supervise daily SMT shift operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery commitments are achieved
- Monitor productivity, capacity, and resource utilization; drive cross-training initiatives to ensure operational flexibility and adequate coverage
- Review production schedules and coordinate with upstream/downstream departments to align output with shipping deadlines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing Support, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including 5S, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Investigate production and quality issues, determine root causes, and escalate complex or ongoing concerns to the appropriate engineering teams
- Ensure all work performed complies with approved procedures, safety standards, PPE requirements, ESD and company policies
- Maintain accurate shift reports, track KPIs, and communicate performance updates and critical events to the Production Manager
- Support the Production Manager on employee-related matters including hiring, performance management, time-off approvals, and team development
- Coordinate team members are properly trained on equipment capabilities, new processes, and standard operating procedures
- Work closely with the Maintenance team to ensure preventative and corrective maintenance activities are completed on schedule
- High School diploma
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- Working knowledge of computers and software programs such as MS Word/Excel/Outlook
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Solid aptitude for learning
- Available to work on a weekly rotational shift: Days/Afternoons
- Capable of following procedures and work logically
- Well-organized, very detail oriented, and able to work on multiple projects
- College diploma and/or additional education and computer courses are strong assets
- Previous experience in a Supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with machine operation
