Ross Video’s Manufacturing Systems team is driving the digital transformation of our manufacturing operations. Our goal is to simplify decisions, reduce waste, and unlock new levels of efficiency through data and software. We’re looking for builders who want to work in manufacturing and can turn ideas into supported tools. You’ll spend your time both at a computer and on the factory floor: learning how production works, listening to real users, and helping create tools that drive efficiency, and insight. Some of what you build will talk to machines, some to databases, and some to people. This is a technical role, but it’s also collaborative. You’ll need curiosity, initiative, and the ability to communicate with non-technical users who aren’t always sure what they need but know what’s broken. Over time, you’ll grow from factory-focused development into broader ERP and business system integrations.

Who you report to: Vice President, Manufacturing Engineering & Technology

What the job is all about:

  • Develop, purchase, and integrate software applications that interface with manufacturing equipment to facilitate automation and data collection (e.g., test stations, vision systems, automation).
  • Create dashboards, UIs, and alerts that improve visibility into factory performance.
  • Write SQL, scripts, and services that connect ERP, MES, and various production systems.
  • Shadow other staff members, attend engineering meetings, walk the production floor, ask questions, and build solutions that increase manufacturing performance.
  • Work in modern development workflows (Git, Python, SQL, APIs, small web apps).
  • Own the testing, roll-out, support, and bug fixing for what you built.
  • Collaborate with senior developers, process engineers, and production staff to scope and plan.

Who you are:

Experience & Education

  • 2–5 years of development experience (ideally supporting operations, factory systems, test tooling, or similar).
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with factory systems like MES, PLM, or ERP is a bonus.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Comfort with basic web development (HTML/JS; React/Dash/Plotly a plus)
  • Experience building tools for non-technical users (UIs, dashboards, utilities)
  • Understanding of APIs, relational databases, and Git workflows
  • Experience working with or near physical systems (bonus if you’ve done test automation or factory integration work)

Mindset & Traits

  • You enjoy working directly with others.
  • You’re curious about how manufacturing works; machines, people, constraints, systems.
  • You’re great and figuring things out.
  • You ask great questions, listen well, and propose clean, practical solutions.
  • You document and test your work.
  • You take ownership: if it breaks, you fix it.
  • You’d rather make something reliable than something flashy.
