Job overview:
The Manager, Credit & Collections is responsible for overseeing the credit and collections function and interfacing with the sales leadership and order management team in managing customer financial relationships. This position leverages a working knowledge of major customers’ industry categories (broadcast, sports and live events, systems integrators, etc) in overseeing a team of Credit and Collection analysts and providing managerial support for the assessment of creditworthiness of potential customers, credit reviews of existing customers, collections of past due balances and escalation of difficult customers’ accounts to ensure minimization of risk of credit loss. This position is also expected to be a key contributor to the broader Finance management team, collaborating with internal peers to facilitate all financial aspects of the Order to Cash cycle.

What the job is all about:
- Oversee all aspects of daily processes, including posting and delivery of financial invoices, posting and reconciliation of cash receipts, responding to internal and external client requests relating to invoicing and payments, and facilitating communication with client-based portals.
- Oversee all aspects of the credit-granting process and act as primary or secondary approver for all credit decisions within specified limits. Relay information to the Senior Director, Finance and the Chief Financial Officer as needed to facilitate decisions which exceed those limits.
- Provide oversight of credit/ship holds, doubtful accounts, receivables insurance, and other loss mitigation strategies. Act as the primary linkage between transactional (analysts) and strategic (Senior Director/CFO) information and decision-making roles.
- Oversee all aspects of month end processes, including balance reconciliations, statement preparation, preparing and arranging bank deposits, and reporting of results to the Executive Leadership Team as needed.
- Review, develop, and implement processes and procedures which facilitate an efficient Order to Cash cycle while maintaining proper audit controls and documented authorizations as required.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key Ross departments, especially including Order Management, Order Admin, Tax and Compliance, Sales, and Services teams.
- Provide regular and frequent job coaching, performance reviews, and staff recruitment as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Who you are:
- Post secondary education in Business Administration
- 2-5 years’ experience as an Accounting Manager, preferably Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable
- Good working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IFRS)
- Experience working with various accounting software (LN an asset)
- Advanced skill level with MS Office and Excel
- Solid level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to explain financial concepts and to interact with credibility with peers and management within the organization.
- Proven track record of excellent professional communication skills. The role demands a resolute approach to collections coupled with an unwavering commitment to customer relationships; achieving that balance requires patience, knowledge, and perseverance all in equal measure.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, and adherence to financial regulations are critical for success in this role.
