The Accounting Coordinator – Accounts Payable will work as part of the Accounts Payable team, overseen by the Manager of Accounts Payable, with responsibilities for the finance approval of employee expense claims. This position will manage the organization's corporate credit card program, ensuring its efficient operation and compliance with company policies and performing month end tasks related to credit card accruals. This position will also support the accounts payable processes for specific entities.

What the job is all about:

  • Receiving, matching, and processing invoices
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
  • Reviews vendor statements monthly, works with Purchasing and Vendors to ensure accounts are in good standing, credit limits are sufficient.
  • Electronic Filing
  • Month End duties including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, etc.
  • Administrator Back up for XM (Expense Management System)
  • Oversee the issuance, maintenance, and cancellation of corporate credit cards. Ensure all new credit card applications are handled promptly.
  • Review corporate card transactions, ensuring they are properly coded and substantiated. Address any discrepancies or issues related to transactions.
  • Educate cardholders on company policies regarding credit card usage. Monitor compliance and address any violations.

Who you are:

  • Post secondary education in Business Administration
  • 3-5 years experience in an accounting environment preferably Accounts Payable
  • Good working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IFRS)
  • Experience working with various accounting software (LN an asset)
  • Advanced skill level with MS Office and Excel
  • Solid level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and adherence to financial regulations are critical for success in this role.
  • Experience working with a High Tech, Software Products or Manufacturing organization would be an asset
