We are looking for a proactive Corporate Tax Analyst to support our tax team with corporate tax duties and customs-related responsibilities. The candidate will support both direct corporate tax compliance and customs classification projects, ensuring adherence to regulations and contributing to efficient tax operations.

What the job is all about:

  • Assist in the preparation of Canadian corporate tax returns, and US federal and state tax returns.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end tax closing processes, ensuring all tax-related tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and ensure proper CCA classification for tax purposes under supervision.
  • Assist with tracking and maintaining records of various tax installment payments and ensure they are made on time.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and support for EU VAT credit claim submissions.
  • Support the tax team in gathering and organizing tax-related data.
  • Perform basic tax research and assist with tax compliance projects under supervision.
  • Help maintain tax records and prepare routine filings.
  • Provide administrative support during tax audits.
  • Assist with the Classification of goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) codes for customs purposes.
  • Perform reconciliations related to CARM and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Assist with the governance and documentation of temporary imports to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members on ad-hoc tax and customs projects.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Internship or co-op experience in tax or accounting preferred.
  • Basic understanding of tax concepts and willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
