This position based in Sacramento, CA. focuses on assisting in the successful installation of D3 LED displays and providing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, electronics and control system on site technical support. Providing top-level system troubleshooting, electronics repair and testing. Assisting, interacting, and collaborating with systems technician, production, and project management team members to assure successful project completion. Check for common problems such as defective manufacturing or loose connections, refer to schematics and specifications to locate malfunction; electronics repair, and testing; document services performed; crimp connector terminals; assemble discrete wiring and harnesses, soldering components using hand and wave soldering techniques. Methodical approach to all intended tasks and approach to problem solving is necessary. Self-starter spirit with naturally strong rapport with customers and subcontractor trades will be highly valued.

This position is a 6-month contract.


What the job is all about:

  • Provide on-site and/or remote technical support including tasks such as system troubleshooting, electronics repair and testing.
  • 80% Travel
  • Install operating systems and video equipment for LED displays and performing commissioning procedures to ensure proper system functionality.
  • Ability to manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Competency in writing and maintaining custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower downtime due to required human intervention
  • Work alongside the team to help design information and operational support systems
  • Assist Project Manager in physical installation, operator training and technical support of LED Display
  • Coordination with various disciplined subcontractors as necessary during installation and supplemental maintenance visits
  • Monitor and test performance of applications, foreseeing potential issues and identifying possible solutions
  • Ability to work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Excellence in communication as a liaison with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve issues
  • Perform other duties as needed and directed by Field Service Manager.

Who you are:

  • Associates degree or higher in a technician, electrical engineering, computer technology or mechatronics-based field of study or 3+ years relevant experience in a related field.
  • 2 years or greater of technician experience, preferably (but not required) within the electronics industry.
  • Advanced computer hardware and networking knowledge.
  • Proven ability to monitor systems successfully and efficiently
  • Proven working experience in the above fields including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments
  • Experience with use of Multi-meter required, soldering and fiber termination skills a plus.
  • Experienced with reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings and schematics.
  • Working knowledge and experience Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Word, Project, and Visio.
  • Valid driver's license and passport with ability to travel locally and worldwide on short notice via air or ground.
  • Able to work from a ladder, at various heights, including on aerial platforms and carry tools/ladder/parts to and from work site.
  • Required to bend, reach, lift and use hands, vision and hearing to perform essential on site and troubleshooting tasks.
