As a Senior Electronic Technician (ET) you will be responsible for the successful troubleshooting of electronic assemblies and systems from production fallout and customer returns. The ETs may work closely with the manufacturing test development team to learn new products and work with the production cells to support the test systems. ETs will have the opportunity to work with a large variety of products and technologies. This role works to troubleshoot and recover the electronic products that failed production process and test steps and the products returned by customers.

What the job is all about:

  • Trouble shoot issues that were not solved by other team members.
  • Use bench top equipment and tools (hardware and software) to test and debug products.
  • Utilizes the proper routing, rework, and knowledgebase tools that help create a sustainable production system.
  • Document work, assisting others who may face similar issues. Update troubleshoot guides as required.
  • Validate the determined repairs by testing and measuring units after defect identification and repair.
  • Shares technical knowledge, insights, and best practices with coworkers.
  • Eagerness to learn new things and take on different responsibilities when needed.
  • Perform production configuration, testing and calibration following established procedures, policies, and protocols.
  • Follows quality guidelines and documented processes while ensuring others do the same.
  • Works alongside product engineering to understand the new products and technologies.
  • Work with production managers, lead-hands, and cell supervisors to support production demands.
  • Takes ownership of the functional role by suggesting improvements and adapting to change.
  • Adhere to Ross Video Health and Safety policies.
  • Perform other related duties as required that contribute to manufacturing’s overall success.

Who you are:

  • Possess an Electronics Technician/Technologist diploma and/or completed a multi-year program in electronics.
  • Solid understanding of electronic theory and applications, with emphasis on digital components such as CPU, FPGA, flash, etc
  • Excellent foundations in schematic reading and interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and other command line interface with hardware
  • Knowledge of JTAG technologies (IEEE 1149.1, 1149.6)
  • Familiarity with wide variety of test equipment (i.e.: high-speed scopes, video/audio generators/analyzers, DVMs, etc.).
  • Manages a wide range of tasks and projects, often with significant complexity and impact.
  • Takes on leadership roles in major projects or initiatives, driving them to successful completion.
  • Interacts extensively with various departments, external stakeholders, and customers.
  • Plays a strategic role in shaping the direction of projects, teams, and potentially the organization.
  • Engages in cross-departmental and cross-functional initiatives, providing strategic and technical guidance.
  • Minimum of 4 years of electronic troubleshooting experience on complex printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as AutoIt, TCL, C, C++ or equivalent.
  • Working proficiency PC/Windows computer skills specifically related to network and serial interface and configuration.
  • Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and core business-use tools.
  • Knowledge of video and audio standards and broadcasting would be an asset.
