The Director, Product Marketing is a newly created critical leadership role within the marketing team responsible for leading and shaping the product marketing strategy to drive market adoption and customer engagement for all Ross products. This role will involve a deep understanding of customer needs, competitive landscape, and product features to create compelling positioning, messaging and go-to-market strategies that resonate with targets.

What the job is all about:

Market Research and Customer Insight:

  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback and usage data to inform product and marketing strategies.

Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution

  • Partner with product management teams to develop comprehensive go-to-market plans, ensuring consistency across communication channels and maximizing overall marketing ROI.
  • Oversee successful go-to-market execution by product marketing managers.

Customer-Centric Positioning & Messaging

  • Collaborate with product management teams to create compelling, customer-centric positioning and messaging - ensuring ‘customer voices’ are prominent.
  • Effectively use product value propositions to ensure messaging resonates with target personas and segments
  • Infuse a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences into marketing materials, enhancing value clarity to our target customers across multiple regions and verticals.

Sales Enablement

  • Collaborate with product management to create high impact sales collateral, training materials, and competitive intelligence tailored to multiple regions and verticals.
  • Define processes to customer-validate messaging and positioning destined for enablement.
  • Map product messaging to content strategies that mirror the sales process.

Team Management & Collaboration:

  • Establish and maintain a symbiotic relationship between product management and product marketing, ensuring that modernization and standardization are embraced, and that change-management is factored in for long-term company success.
  • Oversee the success of the product marketing team (currently consisting of three product marketing managers) within the larger marketing group and establish appropriate product marketing team size and skill-set as the company continues to grow.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing product marketing team. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth.

Who you are:

  • 10 years of experience in a product marketing role for a technology-based company, with at least 5 years of experience leading teams.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong preference for live video production industry experience and B2B environments.
  • Demonstrated product launch success across multiple verticals and regions.
  • Strong understanding of market research, customer insights and competitive analysis.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, with a results-driven mindset
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to drive decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for understanding and meeting customer needs.
  • Creative thinker with a knack for developing innovative marketing strategies.
  • Strong collaborator, able to work effectively cross diverse teams and functions.
  • Proactive, self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Valid passport and willingness to travel to tradeshows and events, as required.
