Who you report to: VP of Product, Enterprise Management.

What the job is all about:

Working closely with the VP of Product, Technical Product Manager, and Development Team, you will be responsible for execution of and/or participation in all product management and marketing activities related your product line and related product lines

Product Management and Product Marketing including but not limited to:

  • Maintenance and evolution of market and product strategy, including:
  • Aligning product brand, customer, and user experience with Ross brand
  • Researching market problems and competitive landscape
  • Establishing a distinctive competitive market position
  • Creating and sharing roadmap and release plans
  • Define product positioning and messaging, maintaining updates over time to address new product capabilities, changes in industry trends, and entry into new markets. Maintain alignment of positioning and messaging with User Personas and GEOs serviced.
  • Provide market problems guidance to be discussed and decided with the product team.
  • Plan for and assist with outbound marketing and launch activities in collaboration with corporate marketing.
  • Gather and integrate product ideas from customers, Sales, market research, and engineering into compelling and prioritized product requirements. Develop strategic multi-year product line roadmaps, including variety and timing of new product launches.
  • Author and provide appropriately scoped Market Requirements for new products, new releases for existing products, and new services. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing during the creation and lead the cross-functional review and acceptance of documents to establish product and feature requirements.
  • Author and provide appropriately scoped Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) to Engineering; collaborate with other stakeholders, and review with Engineering to ensure completeness of requirements specifications and acceptance.
  • Identify new vertical opportunities as they emerge or are directed. Provide SME and market knowledge to cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and other Business Units
  • Provide strategic and detailed guidance during launch planning, defining GEO, channel, and sales strategies. Be responsible for the success of all product launches: define customer targets, sales targets, create and oversee the creation of collateral and ensure completeness.
  • Define, monitor, and maintain product pricing, margins, and various business models (SaaS, volume discounted, partner, channel, OEM) and review regularly to adjust to market forces (competitors, and feedback from Sales).
  • Identify Ross Video core distinctive competencies within the product line, continually developing such competencies toward further innovation and delivery of market-leading products. Provide continual consideration toward patent portfolio growth.
  • Provide recommendations to the VP of Product for product and service decisions regarding introduction, evolution, market access, market growth, and product discontinuation decisions.
  • Maintain a knowledgebase of Win/Loss data gathered from Sales and directly from customers. Use this data to guide new product line requirements
  • In close collaboration with our marketing team, develop and implement key marketing initiatives related to the product, including:
  • Promotional literature (brochures, cut sheets, etc.)
  • Ads, Catalog, Website content, Product packaging
  • Creation and supervision of show reels & training videos
  • Participate in look & feel of manuals
  • Success stories, Press releases, White papers
  • Demo content supervision
  • Demo/tradeshow kit supervision
  • Preparation of sales and dealer information packages
  • Planning for key trade shows (IBC, NAB)
  • Responsible for training internal team members on named product lines
  • Establish and foster community of internal and external expert users using social media engagement - Twitter, LinkedIn, Online Forums, and blogs
  • Responsible for influencing and curating end-to-end customer experience, including:
  • Marketing announcements
  • Launch and product update announcements
  • Download and access
  • Product user experience
  • Service and support experience

Sales Support

  • Attend regular product strategy meetings and summits
  • Participate in key customer demonstrations and proofs-of-performance
  • Work with the sales team to design effective workflows in the pre-sales process
  • Assist RSMs and BDMs with responses to tender documents and other technical questions
  • Keep sales team up to date with new product status
  • Work with the Product Marketing & Pricing Systems team to ensure Salesforce is maintained with recent product information

Other

  • Embody Agile mindset and support Ross in the adoption of Agile practices
  • Embrace the Ross Way to Market (RWTM) and contribute to its evolution and refinement over time.
  • Perform other related duties as required

Who you are:

  • A post-secondary degree in a related field (Engineering, Marketing)
  • Experience selling & marketing broadcast equipment (preferred)
  • Broadcast systems engineering experience (preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of a live production environment (preferred)
  • Familiarity with software development processes
  • Sales and/or marketing training
  • Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Positive
