Working in the Corporate Information Technology team located in Wallingford, CT, the Systems Administrator will have the responsibility to support every area of our rapidly growing company.  The successful candidate will develop the fundamental system integrations and data structures for our business intelligence systems and will be part of a core team that directly contributes to Ross Video’s success. This role is expected to be in the office 3 – 5 days per week.

What the job is all about:

  • Working with the Corporate IT team located in Ottawa, ON, they will develop, plan, and implement solutions to support 1,400+ users in an international multi-site mixed-OS network environment. The focus of this role will be in the Wallingford office.
  • Manages IT projects of small to medium scope, including new system rollouts, facility moves, and server environment deployments.
  • Develops and implements maintenance plans for IT Infrastructure.
  • Creates, maintains, and validates appropriate disaster avoidance and recovery plans working with the Corporate IT team.
  • Troubleshoot network, computer, or system failures.
  • Liaise with external providers where appropriate (internet, wireless, wireline etc)
  • Assist Senior Systems Administrators and IT Help Desk Technicians as required.
  • Troubleshoot assigned IT Help Desk tickets and assist team members when required.
  • Be available two Saturdays per month, September- March, to provide phone support to remote live productions.
  • Support remote Video Distribution Operators in their VPN setup and configuration.
  •  Assist in the creation and upkeep of instructional documentation.

Who you are:

  •          Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent training and experience in the IT field
  •          Minimum 4 years IT experience as a Systems Administrator
  •         Palo Alto Networks security tools
  •          Aruba Wireless Network Management
  •          Dell Infrastructure experience
  •          Network management for Peplink, Netgear, and Unifi
  •          FTP and Synology file shares
  •          Windows, RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS and Mac OS X , Microsoft O365, Azure AD
  •          VMware Infrastructure
  •          Video Editing over 10G Network / NAS
  •          SoftEther / IPv6 VPN for remote operators
  •          Microsoft O365, Azure AD
  •          Familiarity with broadcast networks and Ross Video Dashboard would be an asset.
  •          Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, a reliable vehicle is a must
  •          Travel between US based offices and Canada as required with a valid passport
