Equipment Maintenance Technician (Job Req #2023-327)
This position resides within the Facility Maintenance Group. As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, jigs and fixtures to ensure best performance of the equipment. Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Utilize and maintain our preventative maintenance software including adding new equipment and schedules based on equipment supplier recommendations, handling of maintenance requests through the system, tracking of maintenance supplies and related costs.

What the job is all about:
Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on a wide variety of production equipment including: Printed circuit board assembly and repair equipment, CNC equipment, 3D printers, mechanical jigs and fixtures, torque drivers and other automated manufacturing equipment. Troubleshooting and repair of a variety of electro-mechanical equipment utilizing mechanical drawings, schematics and manuals as reference. Maintain and update our preventative maintenance software system log and track all preventative maintenance and repair activities, track costs of maintenance and repairs. Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment including physical installation and verification of the equipment. Review relevant documentation to ensure procedures and schedules are up to date.
Who you are:
- Post-secondary education in a technical field or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on electro-mechanical equipment, using PM software.
- Able to make choices based on the company’s best interests.
- Familiar with all aspects of health, safety and compliance; surrounding safe working procedures.
- Familiar with standard office tools (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Well-organized and attentive to detail with an exceptional command of English, written and verbal with excellent communication skills.
Bonus points if you have the following:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with technical and non-technical staff.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work and coordinate with several functional areas including management.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to travel outside of Canada for training.
