ABOUT THE ROLE
Rocket Doctor’s Family Health Organization (FHO) MD Lead will be responsible for developing a FHO based in the GTA / Toronto, working closely with Rocket Doctor’s leadership team to guide Rocket Doctor’s growth into hybridized in-person and virtual care. This role will be supported by Rocket Doctor’s team, infrastructure and resources to drive the FHO’s development and implementation.
The FHO MD Lead will coordinate with the initial group of MDs across the GTA who have indicated interest in rostering patients and/or locuming in a new FHO. The FHO MD Lead will also practice medicine at the FHO, both in-person and virtually, supported by a fantastic group of clinical and operational / business professionals. Successful applicants will draw on a background in healthcare management, quality improvement, process design, and patient advocacy.
This position is ideal for an MD with an entrepreneurial mindset who is looking to take on a clinical leadership role in their career, with support from Rocket Doctor.
You will practice medicine based on your clinical expertise and goals, but be supported by our expert team to remove the typical friction that comes with building and growing a FHO.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Highly competitive compensation model combining base remuneration with performance-based incentives under Ontario’s FHO funding structure.
- Potential annual earnings for a fully established FHO panel could exceed $300,000–$350,000, depending on roster size, patient complexity, and engagement in virtual/in-person care.
- You will receive payment for rostered patients according to the provincial FHO capitation rates, ensuring stable base income for managing a patient panel.
- Additional incentives of up to $100,000 are available from the Ministry for leadership of the FHO.
- 100% of these fees will be shown and transferred to the FHO Lead, unlike other FHOs where this funding may not be apparent, or provided to the MD Lead.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- FHO Model Leadership & Implementation:
- Collaborate on the development and refinement of the FHO's PEM strategy.
- Develop and deliver training on patient-centered communication and processes.
- Foster a culture of patient-centricity.
- Build and manage the Physician group across RD who will roster patients and locum for the FHO
- Patient Experience Enhancement:
- Design and analyze patient feedback mechanisms in collaboration with our patient care coordination team.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement action plans to enhance patient experience metrics.
- Oversee the resolution of patient feedback.
- Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
- Conduct process mapping and analysis to identify inefficiencies.
- Apply data analytics to track KPIs and identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop and implement standardized processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams.
- Maintain clear communication on FHOprogress.
- Prepare reports on FHO metrics.
- Quality Improvement & Risk Management:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to patient experience.
ABOUT YOU:
- Licensed to practise medicine in Ontario;
- Certified in family medicine and in good standing with the Canadian College of Family Practitioners
- Familiarity with the medical landscape in Ontario;
- The position requires native fluency in English; fluency in French is an advantage;
- Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environments;
- Experience in Business and/or Medical Administration is an advantage.

- Knowledge of EMRs, including Rocket Doctor’s systems as well as privacy requirements in the Canada/USA (HIPAA, PHIPA, PIPEDA) would be a benefit;
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with all RD staff and patient correspondence;
- Maintain a record of all decisions made;
- Ability to work with confidential company information.
