Rival Technologies – Summer Intern 2025

We are looking for a People & Culture Summer Intern to join our growing team, reporting into the HR Generalist. This internship program offers hands-on learning experience in People & Culture (P+C), providing valuable exposure to key HR functions while contributing to meaningful projects. The intern will develop skills in talent management, employee engagement, compliance, and organizational development. The ideal candidates will be interested in a career in human resources.

Rival Technologies is solving a massive problem in the research industry by creating Community 2.0, an insights community platform using chat-based tech and conversational approaches. We engage with consumers via organic mobile messaging-based solutions to capture rich, in-the-moment qual/quant human insights at scale.

By allowing companies to engage consumers via modern technologies that people use, we’re boldly taking the insights world to its next phase — and we’re looking for a People & Culture Intern to join us for the summer! This internship will begin on June 2, 2025, and will run for the summer until August 8, 2025 (start and end dates can be flexible depending on the academic calendar of your program). This will be a hybrid position located in Vancouver.

What You'll Do:

HR Administration

  • Assist with data record keeping in our HRIS and employee files
  • Ensure all HR internal documentation is accurate and kept up to date
  • Update template letters

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Recruitment

  • Create job postings
  • Headhunt/sourcing on LinkedIn
  • Review resumes

Onboarding

  • Onboarding Revamp: Audit and improve the onboarding process, enhancing new hire orientation presentations and resources.
  • Coordinate new hire meet & greet lunches

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Other wellness campaigns
  • Recognition Program Update: Research and propose ideas for boosting employee recognition programs, especially tied to company values.
  • Employer branding initiatives in partnership with the Marketing team

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a BA/BS program.
  • Exposure to basic human resources practices via coursework.
  • Familiarity with the overall human resource function.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong detail orientation.
  • BONUS: Experience using HR software or Applicant Tracking Systems
