**This is a hybrid role/Leeds based***
The Role:
The Financial Controller is responsible for day to day financial management, including financial accounting and reporting and ensuring accuracy of accounting records.
You will manage the year end audit, produce statutory accounts and work with tax advisors to ensure compliance and also collaborate with management to drive financial performance, support decision making and ensure the financial health of the organisation.
Having line management responsibility for four Finance team members, you will work closely with them on a day to day basis to ensure accurate and timely delivery of monthly management accounts and reporting. You will work alongside the rest of the Resolver finance team and relevant members of the Kroll finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of statutory financial statements, and timely preparation and submission of local and group audit deliverables.
- Management of the month end process, ensuring timelines are adhered to and monthly results are fully reconciled and understood.
- Management of relationships with auditors, tax advisers, banks and other parties as required.
- Ensure returns for Corporation tax, US Sales and Use tax, and all other relevant compliance requirements are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Group's accounting records and financial systems.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review of relevant month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts.
- Effective management of working capital, including robust review of cash flow forecasting.
- Development and monitoring of Internal Controls and continued focus on process improvement.
- Review of payroll, pension and commission on a monthly basis.
- Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for the Board and Executive team, with variance analysis and insight into performance and future impact.
- Provision of insights and recommendations based on financial performance metrics.
- Identification and recommendation of cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
- Management of the Finance team, providing expertise and assisting in setting performance goals. Working with them to advance their skills and progress in their careers and motivating them to exceed expectations.
Essential Qualifications and experience:
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
- 5+ years post qualified experience in financial management, preferably within the technology sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Experience with financial software; advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to manage and mentor a team.
- Proven ability to produce management accounts, statutory accounts and exposure to both UK and US GAAP.
Essential skills and competencies:
- Ability to compile and analyse financial information to prepare management accounts, including monthly, quarterly and annual results.
- Experience in producing annual statutory accounts.
- Ability to use data and data visualisations to develop new insights into our business and improve decision making.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (eg. FinancialForce, Microsoft Dynamics) including advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Ability to review internal controls and processes involving non-key and key controls; defining both known and unknown risks and providing recommendations on the design of these controls; taking action as necessary on the implementation of current and new controls.
- Excellent presentation and listening skills.
- Professional approach and demeanour, ability to remain calm when under pressure.
- Ability to manage operational efficiency of team processes; and individual contributions towards team results and outcomes.
- Ability to coach team members to performance goals through goal-setting, motivation and career development paths.
- High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring data security.
