- Developing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with colleagues of all levels demonstrating professional credibility.
- Partner with first line managers to implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the growth of a business
- Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations.
- Provide timely information and/or education for all levels of a company on People issues.
- Responsible for managing a caseload of various complex ER issues using your knowledge in ER and employment law from receipt to conclusion ensuring capture of management information across UK and US jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with the relevant internal stakeholders, as required, for referral of high-risk ER cases including claims and Occupational Health.
- Leading management of casework across employee lifecycle from attendance, performance, capability, grievance and disciplinary. Making best practice recommendations to support and advise line managers.
- Developing and coaching people managers in performance management of employees by leading the capability-related casework, guiding and advising managers in line with relevant policies.
- Partner and coach first line managers on how to lead teams, performance manage and ensure employee delivery on development goals.
- Educate, coach, and partner with managers on how to performance manage and improve employee delivery on development goals.
- Review and amendment of all internal People policies, to comply with legislation and best practice.
- Preparing guides and training for people managers that support their ability to manage performance, disciplinary, grievance and sickness in our business.
- Keeping up to date regarding developments in human resources practices, employment legislation, and implementing the necessary changes.
- Involved in preparing ad hoc and regular management reports, monitoring and reporting key metrics, such as turnover and retention rates and engagement statistics.
- Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data that identifies trends and themes in our business
- Effective verbal communication to staff of all levels and the written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports.
- Providing support and guidance to the HR operations team and payroll.
- Supporting the utilisation of our learning ecosystems and People Knowledge Hub.
- Supporting the Head of People on the wellbeing provision.
- Support the Head of People in the delivery of HR programmes as required - this could include TUPE transfer, restructuring, outsourcing, engagement, annual performance cycles and compensation.
- Excellent Employment Law understanding in the UK, hands-on experience of running a range of complex cases.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures and experience of writing guides to support and drive change in performance management.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to business issues.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated credibility and integrity in communications to ensure information flows upward and downward.
- Ability to listen and understand the needs of the employees, together with those of the company.
- Ability to stylistically adapt communication based on audience.
- High integrity/will stop at nothing to safeguard compliance standards and company values
- Ability to manage multiple, complex issues and prioritise projects concurrently
- Lead first line managers in assessment and diagnosis to turn problems solving into action.
- Provide and demonstrate change management experience. Restructure and TUPE, complex case management, partnering during change.
- Demonstrable experience of manager coach and influence to achieve business results.
- Use knowledge of the business or the ability to probe for required understanding of business/context in order to properly align solutions or problem solving approaches.
- Minimum 2 years experience in an ER advisory role
- Successful experience as an ER Advisor in a 200 employees + business
- Complex case management experience.
- Commercial, and can understand Data Analytics and use spreadsheets.
- Able to interpret data and provide insights.
- Employee policy and legislation knowledge
- Experience in developing HR policies and processes
- Strong stakeholder management
- CIPD qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience of HR programs and practices, including UK and US employment laws and regulations.
- Experience of running Employee Engagement programmes
- Managing programmes for employee wellbeing.
- Supporting D&I initiatives
- Google suite experience
