Relay is a digital banking platform that gives self-made business owners the tools and know-how to be great with money—bringing clarity, confidence, and control to every dollar earned, so they can turn hard work into lasting success. We do this by replacing financial guesswork with real visibility, transforming cash flow from a constant source of stress into a clear signal owners can use to run stronger, more resilient businesses.

Relay is entering an exciting new chapter of growth! Our product team is scaling quickly, but how we plan, communicate, and operate needs consistency across teams. We're looking for an experienced and operationally-minded builder to join Relay as a Product Operations Manager.

You'll play a crucial role in how our product team works and collaborates cross-functionally across the org, bringing structure, clarity, and velocity to the way we plan, execute, and deliver. In short, you’ll be instrumental in defining how our product organization operates, and how we build our products.

This role will sit within the Operations team and you’ll work closely not only with Product, but other org-wide stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to establish best practices, build scalable processes, and become the connective layer that helps our PMs do their best work. If you're energized by turning ambiguity into systems and want to have a foundational impact on a fast-growing fintech startup, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Operations to build the operational foundation that enables faster, higher-quality product development

  • Establish and maintain a clear, reliable roadmap to improve prioritization, alignment, and execution across teams

  • Define and implement a practical operating model for Product Managers, creating consistency in how work is planned, executed, and communicated

  • Standardize how product initiatives, timelines, and priorities are shared to improve transparency and reduce stakeholder confusion

  • Optimize the flow of insights, data, and customer feedback across the full product lifecycle (from discovery and prioritization through launch and iteration)

  • Improve tooling, systems, and workflows to reduce friction and eliminate unnecessary overhead in day-to-day PM work

  • Identify and address bottlenecks in product delivery to improve speed, quality, and consistency

  • Improve how metrics and insights are surfaced by building dashboards, reporting frameworks, and supporting experimentation

  • Strengthen cross-functional alignment by connecting Product with Sales, CX, and Operations, and improving feedback loops and launch readiness

  • Engage directly with PMs to understand real workflows and pain points, using those insights to test, refine, and evolve processes over a 3–6 month horizon

  • Support the integration of AI-enabled workflows and data-driven automation into core product and operational practices

Who You Are

  • 2 - 6 years of experience in product operations, product strategy, or a similar cross-functional role at high growth company

  • Strong ability to define measurable success metrics and hold yourself accountable to them.

  • Comfortable driving initiatives from discovery to launch with increasing autonomy.

  • Data-literate: able to define KPIs, interpret performance metrics, and write basic SQL queries to support decision-making.

  • Structured thinker who can translate ambiguous problems into clear problem statements and execution plans.

  • Clear and confident communicator who aligns cross-functional partners effectively.

  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments while bringing structure and clarity.

  • Experience with product and analytics tools (e.g., Metabase, Notion, Jira)

Bonus Points

  • Experience building fintech or financial products.

  • Familiarity with payments, banking infrastructure, underwriting, or risk tools.

  • Experience building or scaling product operations in a startup or high-growth company

  • Experience leveraging AI or automation to improve workflows and reduce manual work

  • You own your work: You take pride in your work, follow through on commitments, and feel a deep sense of responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.

  • You treat comfort as a red flag: You seek growth. When things feel too comfortable, you lean into change. You’re excited about stepping into the unknown and navigating new terrain to create something better alongside your team.

  • You care about impact, not noise: You care deeply about the substance of your work. You measure success by results, not recognition and you let your work speak for itself.

  • You’re energized by complexity and ambiguity: You enjoy tackling problems that don’t come with a playbook. You’re comfortable building from scratch, iterating as you go, and collaborating to shape the best path forward.

  • You seek out feedback: We value directness, clarity, and respect. We believe honesty fuels great work and career growth. You see feedback as a tool for learning and improvement, and you know that open, honest dialogue is key to achieving the best results — together.

  • You’re here for more than a job: At Relay, everything we do is in service of our mission to help small businesses thrive. To drive impact and have purpose here, that mission must matter to you too.
