Our mission is to increase the success rate of small businesses. Traditional banking has been a growth limiter rather than a growth enabler for business owners, and we’re changing that. Relay is the all-in-one, collaborative money management platform. We’re building for employer SMBs and their finance function, internal and external, and are focused on delivering a human-centric customer experience. Ultimately, we help SMBs be ‘on the money'.

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to transform how we understand, optimize, and scale our go-to-market (GTM) and revenue operations (RevOps). As we grow, you will play a pivotal role in diagnosing funnel health, improving acquisition efficiency, and tying GTM motions to revenue outcomes. Your work will ensure Sales, Marketing, and Operations are equipped with actionable insights, intuitive dashboards, and scalable data models that drive predictable growth. Please note that we are a hybrid environment and choose to collaborate in the office three days a week.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partnering with Sales, GTM, and RevOps leaders to proactively propose analyses and experiments that deepen understanding of our customer journey, uncover growth opportunities, and inform go-to-market strategy.

  • Diagnosing funnel health and conversion levers across channels (inbound, outbound, partnerships), identifying the drivers behind acquisition, engagement, and expansion performance.

  • Partnering with GTM leadership to set targets, forecast performance, and guide strategic planning using data-driven insights that optimize investment and resource allocation.

  • Designing and maintaining reliable, scalable GTM data models that unify CRM, marketing automation, product usage, and financial data. Building automated dashboards and reports in BI tools that empower stakeholders to self-serve and make informed decisions.

  • Applying statistical and experimental methods to evaluate GTM and funnel changes, measuring the impact of messaging, channels, and processes on conversion, revenue, and expansion opportunities.

  • Communicating findings and recommendations clearly to Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Leadership, translating complex data into actionable strategies that drive growth and efficiency.

Who you are

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst supporting GTM, revenue, or strategy functions in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment.

  • Highly analytical and business-minded, able to move fluidly from diagnosing performance issues to designing systems and metrics that solve them.

  • Domain knowledge in B2B fintech or SaaS analytics, with a strong understanding of sales and marketing funnels and key metrics such as ARR, NRR, LTV, CAC, conversion, and retention.

  • Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, CTEs, and window functions; comfort working with large datasets and multiple data sources.

  • Experience with BI/visualization (Looker, Metabase, Mode, etc.) and comfortable building self-serve assets for non-technical users.

  • Excellent communicator who thrives in cross-functional collaboration, bridging data, operations, and strategy to influence GTM decisions.

  • You have a passion for storytelling using data with an ability to synthesize complex information into simple, clear, and compelling actionable insights

  • Adaptability to handle change and uncertainty at times; We are a startup after all!

Bonus points

  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP or Azure) and familiarity with cloud data warehouse platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.).

  • Experience with a data-oriented programming language (Python, R, Julia).

  • Familiarity with dbt for data modelling, automation, or experimentation.

Our Commitment to you

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity: every team member gets a piece of the pie.

  • Comprehensive health benefits: we offer full health benefits + an HSA/WSA starting from day 1 so you get the coverage you need.

  • Considerable vacation/end-of-year holiday shutdown: we take time off to reset and recharge so we come back better for our customers.

  • Hybrid work environment: we love collaborating and connecting in the office three times a week and offer catered lunches and a snack/beverage program for the days we’re in office. Don’t forget to bring in your furry friends!

  • Personal and professional growth: support from leaders who care about your growth and success through regular feedback and coaching. Our goal is to make Relay a step-change career opportunity.

  • Top-tier equipment: we’ll make sure you have everything you need to produce your best work.

  • Team-first culture: we’re passionate about working collaboratively, bonding through team events, and most importantly having fun.

The Interview Process

  • Stage 1: A 45-minute Google Meets video call with our Data Analytics Manager

  • Stage 2: A 1-hour Google Meets video call with VP of Strategy & Operations

  • Stage 3: A 45-minute in-person values interview with a member of the Relay Leadership Team

  • Stage 4: A take-home analytics case study, followed by a 60-minute presentation to members of the GTM and Data team (virtual, or in-person)

Why Relay Might Be the Perfect Fit For You

  • You push relentlessly for reinvention: You’re built to constantly ask, “How can this be better?” Change excites you and you drive it.

  • You crave autonomy: We trust our team with big challenges and the freedom to solve them. If you’re someone who takes initiative, is comfortable taking risks, and seeks input when needed, you’ll find the freedom here empowering.

  • You own your work: You take pride in your work, follow through on commitments, and feel a deep sense of responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.

  • You treat comfort as a red flag: You seek growth. When things feel too comfortable, you lean into change. You’re excited about stepping into the unknown and navigating new terrain to create something better alongside your team.

  • You care about impact, not noise: You care deeply about the substance of your work. You measure success by results, not recognition and you let your work speak for itself.

  • You’re energized by complexity and ambiguity: You enjoy tackling problems that don’t come with a playbook. You’re comfortable building from scratch, iterating as you go, and collaborating to shape the best path forward.

  • You seek out feedback: We value directness, clarity, and respect. We believe honesty fuels great work and career growth. You see feedback as a tool for learning and improvement, and you know that open, honest dialogue is key to achieving the best results — together.

  • You’re here for more than a job: At Relay, everything we do is in service of our mission to help small businesses thrive. To drive impact and have purpose here, that mission must matter to you too.

Our Promise

We’re driving real change for small business owners, powered by truly remarkable people. At Relay, you’ll find the confidence to take chances, trust to take initiative, and the support you need to build a career you love. Here, we make sure every team member feels empowered to make big decisions, encourage to ask tough questions, and challenged to take risks that result in work we’re all proud of. We give you the baton–you run the Relay.
