We’re looking for a Bilingual (French) Content / PR Specialist to join our Marketing Team (based in downtown Toronto but also open to remote candidates), reporting directly to the Director of Content.

The candidate will be fully fluent in French and English with a thorough mastery of grammar structure in both languages (knowledge of Quebec marketplace is an asset). The candidate will translate website copy and public relations materials from English to (Canadian) French, as well as write blog posts and landing page content. They will also manage incoming French media requests for Ratehub’s Quebec spokesperson.

The candidate will be a wiz at French content development and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and informativeness of our website, across Ratehub.ca’s various business units.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Translation:

  • Translate website copy from English to French on a per-assignment basis and within the assigned deadline
  • Engage in editing rounds in English, with feedback implemented in a French end product
  • Translate English PR pitches to French

Blog Writer:

  • Receive article topics and assignment outlines from the Director of Content
  • Research the topic
  • Select SEO keywords for the topic
  • Write a draft of the article to submit within the assigned deadline
  • Engage in three editing rounds, receiving feedback and corrections in English

PR Specialist

  • Support PR manager in curating media list for Quebec market
  • Translate english PR pitches to French, and gather expert insights from Quebec Spokesperson
  • Circulate media pitches and facilitate incoming French media requests for Quebec spokesperson including prep, scheduling, and follow up
  • Build, maintain, and engage with a network of media in Quebec
  • Content Management System - Publishing and Editing
    • Edit and publish digital content using WordPress
    • Collaborate with our Editorial Team to ensure what we produce is in line with our brand standards
    • Work collaboratively with our SEO Strategist to optimize content for SEO and ensure our content is up-to-date
    • Act as a key stakeholder in the prioritization and implementation of relevant CMS components, website functionality, and content updates to ensure a seamless user experience

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of accredited translation certificate program preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of French-language writing experience
  • Portfolio of past work
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Basic SEO skills
  • 2+ years experience in a role focused on PR or marketing with commensurate skills executing PR
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a fast paced environment
