Description
We are seeking two (2) Scientific Sales Representatives with experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, to join our team and offer ground-breaking, discovery-stage R&D services focused on antibodies.
Rapid Novor seeks to elevate human health by decoding immunity. The patented technology we’ve developed for sequencing and characterizing proteins using mass spectrometry has already made an extraordinary impact on antibody discovery and development. With a team of 50+ and more than 11,000 successful projects under our belt, Rapid Novor has a strong reputation for service excellence. Our clients routinely use our services in therapeutic discovery, IVD development, basic research, controls and assay development. Our scope of services includes a full suite of R&D programs including antibody discovery, epitope mapping, kinetic analysis, and glycan profiling. The sales territory for this role will focus on Western North America.
The ideal candidate will have sales experience, connections in the biotech/pharma R&D industry, and a strong technical understanding of antibody R&D, immunology, or related fields. The candidate we seek has a strong ability to uncover new opportunities, discover needs, propose solutions, and follow up. This is not just an ‘order taker’ role – you will meet new and existing clients, build relationships and connections, and initiate conversations.
Responsibilities
- Attend conferences and industry events, and work with Sales Development Representatives to uncover opportunities.
- Develop long term and trusting relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and challenges.
- Respond to new inbound inquiries for services from digital campaigns.
- Account profiling and research for existing and key accounts, building your network.
- Outreach to key contacts to uncover opportunities – by phone, email, Linkedin.
- Presenting our services to key contacts, client/prospect lunch-n-learns, webinars, or conference sessions.
- Managing all stages of the sales cycle and maintaining up-to-date sales pipeline for forecasting and for management to review.
- Effective hand off of closed business to service team, and oversight of invoicing process.
Requirements
- A university degree in life sciences; post-graduate degree is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of immunology or antibody R&D is a huge bonus.
- Self-starter, results-oriented, extremely tenacious, well-organized.
- Positive attitude with a desire to succeed.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Sales experience including selling strategic solutions to life sciences organizations; engaging with C-suite executives, and negotiating agreements.
- Proficiency with sales automation/crm tools (Hubspot preferred).
- Ability to effectively communicate and clearly explain technology to different audiences, through writing and presentations.
- Excited about an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment.
- Approximately 10% travel, primarily to conferences.

With our head office located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, this role will be remote from the office, ideally located in proximity to local markets on the Western region of North America . As most selling can be done virtually, the candidate will be working from their home (preferably based in Canada), except when travelling to attend tradeshows/conferences.
Compensation Range: $80-100k CAD Total Target Earnings (base + commission)
