LABORATORY TECHNICIAN I

(Full-Time)

Location: Kitchener, ON, Canada

Introduction

We are looking for an entry-level Laboratory Technician to join our team to help support our anti-body sequencing and characterization services. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work in a growing state-of-the-art protein analytical laboratory with high-growth potential.

The Role

As a Laboratory Technician, you will perform a variety of lab tasks to help prepare clients samples for analysis, working with a growing team of technicians to balance priorities and ensure the highest quality of results for our clients and researchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow standard operating procedures for sample preparation for routine LC-MS/MS analysis.
  • Working closely with LC-MS team, support the operation and maintenance of advanced state-of-the-art nanoflow liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instrumentation.
  • Assist scientists in method development and process optimization.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with other R&D members in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Maintain good laboratory records.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary program completion (degree or diploma) in a related field: analytical chemistry, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology.
  • Familiarity with computer data systems.
  • Willingness to perform routine tasks while focusing on reproducibility and accuracy.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of common lab equipment (pipette, pH meter, centrifuge, balance etc.) as well as common lab techniques.
  • Ability to work as a team and to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
