Wavelo is a SaaS business on a mission to make telecoms a breeze.

We provide flexible software that modernizes how communication service providers (CSPs) do business, helping them drive more value, focus on customer experience, and scale their operations faster.

As part of Tucows (NASDAQ:TCX, TSX:TC)—one of the world’s largest Internet services companies—Wavelo is backed by outstanding resources and talent. We embrace a people-first philosophy that is rooted in respect, trust, and flexibility. We believe that whatever works for our employees is what works best for us. It’s also why the majority of our roles are remote-first, meaning you can work from anywhere you can connect to the Internet!

The work we do genuinely changes lives. If this sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to own the Wavelo Biller — Wavelo’s core, configurable billing engine powering both wireless and wireline billing across multiple customers, brands, and billing models.

The Wavelo biller is an event-based platform for prepaid, postpaid, and hybrid billing for consumer, SMB, and enterprise use cases, and is designed to extend beyond connectivity into device financing, hardware, and non-network services.

This role is for a senior PM who is comfortable owning complex business-critical systems: defining clear behavior, setting guardrails, and making long-term tradeoffs that balance flexibility and scale. You will be accountable for how billing behaves across products, networks, and customers.

Job Duties

  • Set and communicate platform-level product strategy for billing at Wavelo

  • Translate complex billing behavior into clear product definitions, requirements and guardrails

  • Evaluate new use cases and customer requests, making tradeoffs between flexibility, risk, and long-term maintainability

  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Product managers to align on billing behavior and ownership boundaries

  • Enable Marketing through accurate, product-authored documentation that explains billing behavior, supported use cases, customer value, and competitive differentiation

  • Partner with the Solutions team to evaluate customer-specific requirements, distinguishing between one-off needs and platform-level capabilities that should be productized

  • Maintain a shared mental model of “how billing works” across teams

  • Serve as a liaison to customer delivery/solutions teams — ensuring smooth onboarding, integration, and customization.

  • Define success metrics and drive outcomes that improve customer experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 5+ years in technical product management experience, with senior-level ownership of platform or financial systems

  • Strong experience with billing (telecom is nice to have), invoicing, payments, or accounting-adjacent platforms

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with engineering teams in an agile environment, translating complex product behavior into clear priorities, acceptance criteria, and iterative delivery

  • Hands-on experience collaborating with Engineering teams on event-driven architectures, microservices, and RESTful API design.

  • Familiarity with customer onboarding, delivery, and post-sales technical support — especially in a SaaS or enterprise setting.

  • Strong product instincts backed by technical fluency — you can translate platform complexity into clear, compelling value for customers.
  • Experience with telecom systems and standards is a plus, but not required.
