Software Engineer - Remote

About the Opportunity:

Tucows Domains is looking for an engineer to join a team of developers. You’ll be joining a greenfield project where we build a new system to replace all of our existing domain management systems. The system will ultimately manage 25 million domains and handle a large number of users and transactions.

Job Duties

• Implementing stories and tickets based on user and system requirements
• Writing unit tests
• Contribute to technical design and planning sessions
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that development standards are adhered to
• Balance the need to ship code quickly with the need to make sound technical decisions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Exposure to multiple programming languages
• Knowledge of GoLang, or willing and able to learn GoLang very quickly
• Experience writing automated tests
• Experience with Continuous Integration concepts and tools
• Experience delivering highly available and reliable systems
• Experience with AWS is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of domains and DNS is a plus

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years professional experience in a software engineering environment

The base salary range for this position is $136,530 - $151,700. Range shown in $USD for US residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications.
