The Opportunity
As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting our grant management solutions to a diverse range of customers, cities, counties and special districts, and other entities seeking funding opportunities. Your in-depth knowledge of grant management processes and regulations will be crucial in understanding customer needs, providing consultative advice, and tailoring solutions that align with their specific requirements. If you're a consultative Sales Executive focused on building relationship, you'll be successful establishing the trust and rapport with prospective customers that is required to succeed in this role. Your ability to understand client needs and provide consultative advice will be crucial in aligning our services with their specific requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior sales professional looking to build a career in service-oriented sales.
Responsibilities
- Drive Sales Results – Aim to achieve and exceed set sales targets by promoting our Grant Management solution. Demonstrate a strong will-to-win. Be self-motivated and maintain consistent, high levels of energy and focus.
- Manage an Effective Pipeline – Evaluate and prioritize prospect opportunities in order to maximize sales of net new products and services within a designated territory. Actively prospect for new leads to create a steady funnel of progressive opportunities, including cold calling, emailing, social media and industry networking.
- Develop In-depth Understanding of Clients – Invest in understanding key aspects of clients' current solutions and how additional services can meet their evolving needs. Recognize the importance of an in-depth understanding for creating solutions that result in customer satisfaction. Coordinate and customize needs-based client demos in collaborating with Sales Engineers, and/or lead where appropriate/required.
- Become a Recognized Expert in Our Services – Build a strong knowledge base of our Grant Management Solution. Stay informed about industry trends and attend relevant events to enhance your expertise and visibility within the market.
- Build Positive Client Interactions – Approach each client interaction with optimism and professionalism. Nurture relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Differentiate Our Value – Clearly communicate the value of our solution in all client interactions. Tailor recommendations to meet specific client needs and prepare pricing proposals for review.
- Influence Client Decisions – Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, addressing any concerns and guiding them through the decision-making process. Negotiate agreements that are mutually beneficial.
- Plan and Manage Time Effectively – Use effective time management to maximize client-facing activities. Attend to sales support duties in an organized and timely manner, and maintain accurate records in the CRM.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales or BDR role, preferably in a grant management environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
- Ability to relate to individuals across a range of positions, from C-level executives to operational staff.
- Familiarity with selling into government or public sector clients is a plus.
Key Working Relationships
- Liaise with Project Managers and Professional Services teams to develop service proposals and implementation plans.
- Provide client feedback to internal teams to inform service development and enhancement strategies.
Location & Travel
- Position is remote, with occasional travel to client sites or company offices.
- Some irregular hours may be required for client meetings or service delivery coordination.
- 25% travel within North America, occasionally requiring overnight stays.
