We are seeking a Data Scientist who will develop data-driven solutions to support our product, sales, leadership, and marketing teams.
An ideal candidate is adept at working with large data sets to find opportunities for optimizing product user experience as well as research study data models. Candidates are expected to have extensive experience with data mining/analysis, using a variety of data tools, building, implementing and training models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional areas.

Provide high level statistical analysis of health data from research studiesResearch and develop statistical learning models for data analysisCollaborate with product and engineering teams to understand company needs and devise possible solutionsCommunicate results and ideas to key decision makersImplement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysisKeep up-to-date with latest technology trendsThis is a remote job, even for employees in Vancouver or Toronto. What We Expect from You
3+ years of experience analyzing large datasets, in a statistical or mathematical capacityA Master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field with demonstrable practical experience is valuableExperience writing code (Python, R, SPSS) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets, including tools like Jupyter, Pandas, SciPy, PySparkExperience with advanced statistical techniques and concepts for technical analysis, identifying discrete populations in a dataset, developing summary reports, and business intelligence (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.)Experience or knowledge of machine learning, including practical use-cases (clustering, random forest, artificial neural networks, etc)Clear and actionable communication skills, verbal and writtenInterest in learning and applying new technologies and techniquesFamiliarity with one or more of the following are assets as well:Statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, text mining, social network analysis, etc.Amazon Web Services, particularly the services related to data processing, analysis or reportingAbility to use advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics like regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.Visualization tools like Tableau, QuickSite, Power BI, D3, ggplotDistributed computing tools like Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, GurobiWorking with Health data or with data related to regulatory compliancePlease note: Preference is given to candidates that have an interest or background in psychology (or similar), mental health, microdosing, health & wellness or what Quantified Citizen working on in general.
