About the Role
You’re a skilled DevOps Engineer, and knowledgeable in AWS and the nexus between Development and IT Operations. You understand optimization, automation, security, and high-availability, and excel at distilling vague direction into amazing outcomes through asking meaningful questions, learning, and understanding business context. You advocate for best practices, but love to move fast, delivering customer value through high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in the ongoing operation, monitoring, and evolution of the Proposify's technical infrastructure, including around security, performance and compliance.
- Support our teams to implement scalable, resilient, and secure solutions in the public cloud, especially in AWS.
- Participates in automation initiatives to streamline processes
- Monitors and enhances automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI/CD).
- Analyzes and troubleshoots complex software and infrastructure issues.
Collaboration
- Works to understand the product from the customer’s point of view.
- Participates in and supports initiatives outside of the main area of responsibility.
- Delivers, receives and implements constructive feedback in a team-based environment.
- Communicates with the team in a professional and friendly manner.
- Participate in security and compliance efforts, notably SOC II and GDPR
Leadership
- Balances strategic and tactical goals.
- Engage and collaborate with the rest of the Engineering team.
Production Support
- Participates in on-call support rotation as needed.
- Is a proactive problem solver with production and/or infrastructure issues by monitoring logs and other data.
Problem Analysis
- Works at whatever level is required to discuss problems and possible solutions of a task or project.
- Constructively challenges assumptions.
- Conducts and/or supports In-depth problem analysis of application infrastructure and code when needed.
What We Love About You
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in building DevOps automation and cloud-native architecture platforms.
- Solid understanding of:
- Orchestration tools such as Github actions, Codebuild and/or any modern and relevant solution
- Container platforms – Docker, ECS, etc
- Setting up code scanning and testing tools, and incorporating automated testing in pipelines
- Scripting languages PowerShell, Shell, Python
- Centralized Logging and Monitoring – DataDog, AWSCloudWatch, AWSCloudTrail, etc.
- Understanding of engineering, architecture, and best practices.
- Understands cloud native architecture, patterns, and operations.
- Experience in distributed systems is an asset
- Experience with event driven architecture is a major plus
