Practice Better operates remote-first, hybrid optional. We ensure each member of our team is equipped with the necessary tools to perform effectively within the comfort of their own space. However flexibility is important! So if you need to stretch your legs or whiteboard with your team, you can use our beautiful, private downtown Toronto office.
About the Position:
Position Title: Talent Sourcing Specialist (6 month contract; 20-30 hours per week)
Location: Candidate must be located in Canada or the USA. Our office is located in Toronto, ON, Canada, but the role is remote/hybrid/flexible.
Work Type: Contract (6 month contract; 20-30 hours per week)
Reports to: SVP, Finance & Operations
As a key member of our Talent Acquisition team, you will be responsible for sourcing and developing the talent pipeline for a variety of roles across Practice Better. Working in partnership with our recruiting and hiring teams, you’ll play a pivotal role in attracting, identifying and qualifying talent as we grow and scale.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide front end sourcing support for our software engineering, business and corporate teams – The specifically includes reviewing inbound resumes, identifying, sourcing, and phone screening candidates and bringing them into our talent pipelines for our recruiters
  • Deeply understand our roles in order to identify the best of the best – Work closely with recruiters and hiring managers to deeply understand requirements of roles, team and how they will make a difference at Practice Better
  • Develop and execute creative direct sourcing strategies – Build a robust candidate pipelines to fill the highest priority hiring needs for the company
  • Apply your analytical prowess to fill our pipelines with speed and efficiency – Use hiring metrics to develop and execute on new and more efficient sourcing solutions
  • Operate as sourcing sleuth– Be curious about where the best talent lives and develop creative methods to connect with untapped talent outside traditional means (eg. beyond LinkedIn)
  • Represent and showcase our culture – Provide an exceptional candidate experience to each and every candidate you come into contact with while sharing our story with talent.
  • Build diverse pipelines of talent– Tap into communities and talent pools of historically marginalized and underrepresented talent to build diverse slates of candidates for our open roles

Who you are:

  • You have 3-5 Years of recruiting experience with at least 2 years of technical sourcing experience — You have proven experience sourcing exceptional, diverse technical talent within a dynamic and fast growing startup environments
  • You’ve got scaling Expertise — You’ve excelled in companies that are fast growing, and have a strong track record of sourcing the best talent efficiently and at scale. You thrive in changing and fast paced environments.
  • You’re an expert partner and collaborator— particularly with R&D (Engineering, Product, and Design) teams and candidates with technical expertise. You thrive in collaborating with your recruiting partners.
  • You’re skilled in tools used to source, organize and manage talent pipelines – You have expertise using LinkedIn Recruiter and various ATS systems (Lever experience is a plus!), including the ability to configure these platforms for optimal functionality. Additionally, you continuously seek to understand data and insights to inform your sourcing strategies
  • You have experience sourcing within Canada and US — Extensive experience in sourcing and hiring technical talent across both Canada and US is required
  • You have a growth mindset— you’re always willing to learn, challenge yourself and find new ways to innovate and problem solve.

Within:

  • 1 Month – Rapidly become a Practice Better expert, understanding our platform, policies, and current practices. Gain a comprehensive understanding of our user interface, workflow, and policies related to talent acquisition. Hit the ground running with focus on immediately developing talent pipelines for 10+ open requisitions in partnership with our recruiting and hiring teams.
  • 3 Months — Partner with our recruiting team and business leaders on multiple hiring searches. Leverage (and recommend if necessary) sourcing tools - Lever ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter, and others to develop healthy pipelines for a variety of technical roles.
  • 6 Months — Have successfully built robust pipelines for our full slate of open requisitions, ideally leading to several hires over the course of the contract.
