Your Role at a Glance
The Applications Engineer at Mastercam plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology and customer success. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise, training, and support to Mastercam’s customers, channel partners, and internal teams. As an expert in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing processes, the Applications Engineer ensures customers maximize the value of Mastercam products while addressing technical challenges and delivering innovative solutions.
*Must be located in the St. Louis, MO region.
How You’ll Drive Success
CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND SOLUTIONS
- Provide expert-level support to customers andchannel partnersby troubleshooting technical issues related to Mastercam products.
- Analyze customer workflows and recommend tailored solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Serve as a technical resource for escalated customer inquiries, ensuringtimelyand effective resolution
PRODUCT EXPERTISE AND COLLABORATION
- Collaborate with product management and development teams to provide customer feedback and insightsforproduct enhancements.
- Test andvalidatenew product features, ensuring compatibility and usability in real-world scenarios.
- Stay updated on the latest Mastercam releases, industry trends, and competitive solutions tomaintaintechnicalexpertise.
PRE-SALES AND POST-SALES SUPPORT
- Assistsales teams with pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proofs of concept (PoC).
- Work with customers post-sale to ensure successful implementation and adoption of Mastercam solutions.
INNOVATION AND OPTIMIZATION
- Identifyopportunities to improve customer workflows and recommend advanced techniques or tools.
- Develop customtoolpaths, templates, and macros to meet specific customer requirements.
- Share best practices and innovative approaches within the Mastercam user community.
DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, technical solutions, and best practices.
- Create knowledge base articles and technical documentation to support Mastercam users.
- Provide regular reportstomanagement on customer trends, technical challenges, and areas for improvement.
TRAINING AND ENABLEMENT
- Partner with the Global Training Center to deliver training sessions, both in-person and online, to customers,channel partners, and internal teams on Mastercam products and best practices.
- Develop and update technical training materials, user guides, and tutorials.
- Conduct hands-on demonstrations toshowcaseproduct features and applications.
The Talents We’re Seeking
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, ora relatedfield, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3– 5years of experience in CAD/CAM programming, manufacturing, orapplicationsengineering.
- Hands-on experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software isrequired.
- Knowledge of CNC programming, machining processes, and tooling is highly desirable.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proficiencyin Mastercam and familiarity with other CAD/CAM tools.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
- Experience with simulation software and post-processor customization is a plus.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite).
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communicationand presentation abilities to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including customer site visits and trade showsand international events.
