Help define how privacy-first technology creates real value for the organizations responsible for keeping people safe.

At Pontosense, we transform everyday spaces into intelligent, supportive environments using contactless sensing that understands what’s happening — without intrusion. Our technology is built to safeguard independence, preserve dignity, and give families and care providers confidence that the people they support are safe.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Contract UX Designer to work closely with our Product team to turn early ideas into clear, structured, and intuitive user experiences.

This is a UX-focused role — not a visual or UI design role. The work centers on defining flows, interactions, and system behavior, rather than visual polish or branding.

You’ll take rough concepts, evolving requirements, and partial flows, and turn them into well-structured user experiences that are easy to understand, consistent, and ready to build.

If you enjoy making sense of ambiguity and bringing clarity to complex product ideas, this role will feel like a strong fit.

What You’ll Work On

  • You’ll design for both B2B and D2C experiences on a new category of AI-powered wellness platform—combining radar-based sensing, LLM-driven insights, and real-time emergency response to monitor and understand human behavior in physical spaces.
  • Translate product requirements (PRDs) into clear user flows, journey maps, and interaction models
  • Communicate interaction logic through structured, low- to mid-fidelity designs in Figma
  • Iterate closely with PdMs and Engineering to refine flows before handoff to high-fidelity design and development
  • Ensure consistency of interaction patterns and system behaviors across a multi-product ecosystem

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-8 years of UX / interaction design experience in mobile or desktop SaaS, with a portfolio showing complex, system-driven flows (B2B and/or D2C)
  • Strong interaction design and systems thinking—able to simplify complex problems into clear, intuitive experiences
  • Ability to think from first principles and navigate ambiguity without relying on rigid UX processes
  • Experience designing UX for AI-powered products or intelligent systems is an asset
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate design, scenario exploration, and edge-case coverage
  • High proficiency in Figma for communicating flows, wireframes, and interaction logic
  • Strong intuition for usability, with the ability to identify and resolve issues without heavy reliance on research
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product and Engineering in fast-paced environments
  • Curious, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with emerging technologies

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a visual/UI design role focused on aesthetics or branding
  • Not responsible for visual design systems or marketing assets
  • Not focused on high-fidelity UI polish

How This Role Works

  • Part-time contract (~30–40 hours/month to start, with potential to grow)
  • Flexible hours, working closely with our Product team
  • Work is scoped around active product initiatives (not continuous full-time design support)

Why This Role Matters

This role sits directly in the path between product thinking and what users experience.

Your work will shape the clarity, usability, and flow of what we build — helping ensure that what we ship is not only functional, but intuitive and easy to use.

Why Pontosense:

  • Work on something that matters. Help shape how people stay safe and supported at home, with technology that respects privacy — no cameras, no wearables.
  • See your work in real use. What you design won’t sit in a backlog — it will show up in products used every day by families, caregivers, and care organizations.
  • Join a thoughtful, low-ego team. We care about building things well, communicating clearly, and working collaboratively to get to the best outcome.
  • Bring clarity to real problems. This role is hands-on and execution-focused — ideal for someone who enjoys turning complexity into simple, usable experiences.
  • Flexible, contract-based work. Part-time scope with flexibility, and the opportunity to expand as our product and needs grow.
