About Pontosense

At Pontosense, we have a groundbreaking mission: saving lives. Our wireless sensing modules are at the forefront of this life-saving technology, the only one of its kind in the world; offering unparalleled medical-grade accuracy for crucial biometrics.

Imagine a sensor that can wirelessly monitor vital signs like heart rate, breathing, and even advanced biometrics. This sensor becomes your personal guardian angel, promptly alerting your car or house at the first sign of an emergency. With Pontosense, you can ensure the safety of your living space like never before. Today, we are fortunate to work with the most prominent automotive and smart home companies – think of one; chances are, we are their partner.

Founded in Waterloo, we have grown to offices in Toronto, Japan, China, and Germany. Our founding team has invented over 500+ patents (more than Airbnb and Snapchat combined!) and built three different unicorns ($1B+ market cap), and wireless sensing is our passion - we want to change the world for the better.

The Sales team:

The Business Development and Sales function is more than just selling – it's a critical pillar where the relationships created with new clients, partners and global markets are a catalyst to spread our messages and integrate our smart sensing technology around the world.

As a Sales Representative focusing on the Healthcare and AgeTech markets, you will:

  • Play a pivotal role as a member of the Healthcare and Agetech Growth team, making a massive impact as we expand our presence in this market.

  • Be a product expert, finding the intersection of what our clients value and how our technology meets their needs and targets.

  • Be a strategic sales partner, taking creative approaches to seek, attract, and nurture partnerships through different avenues.

  • Be a major contributor to building strong pipelines, generating revenue, and creating internal processes as we scale.

  • Champion the company and technology at conferences, coordinating KPIs and creating strategies to optimize our presence and impact.

The compensation package for this role is a base salary between $84,000-$96,000 plus commission.

Please Note: We have offices in Toronto and Waterloo and work in a hybrid model. The expectation for this role is to be in the office two days a week. Please ensure that you only apply to the role in the country where you currently reside. Multiple applications will not be considered.

What we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role, there are a few things that we are looking for. This is by no means an exhaustive list, if you do not meet most or all of these points, we still encourage you to apply.

  • You have a proven track record of 3-5 years in business development, sales, or account executive roles, a bonus if you have experience in the Healthcare or Agetech industry.

  • You have experience facilitating product demos.

  • Critical thinking drives your decision making and you are excited about the opportunities to showcase, present and guide customers.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You're able to have effective conversations no matter who the audience is.

  • You are energized by a crowd, whether small or large and speaking on what you’re passionate about comes easy to you.

  • A bonus if you have experience with building proposals and presentations.

What you can expect in our process:

Step 1: Selected candidates will meet with our Recruiter, Kate Chen, for a 30-minute Teams interview. Kate wants to learn more about your experience and what you’re looking for in the next step in your career. Do some research on Pontosense - why are you interested in working here?

Step 2: You’ll meet with Muxin Ma, our COO, for a 60-minute Teams interview.

Step 3: You will meet with Alex Qi, our CEO, for a 30-minute Teams interview. If you are local, this interview may be in person at our Waterloo or Toronto office.
