About Pontosense

At Pontosense, we have a groundbreaking mission: saving lives. Our wireless sensing modules are at the forefront of this life-saving technology, the only one of its kind in the world; offering unparalleled medical-grade accuracy for crucial biometrics.

Imagine a sensor that can wirelessly monitor vital signs like heart rate, breathing, and even advanced biometrics. This sensor becomes your personal guardian angel, promptly alerting your car or house at the first sign of an emergency. With Pontosense, you can ensure the safety of your living space like never before. Today, we are fortunate to work with the most prominent automotive and smart home companies – think of one; chances are, we are their partner.

Founded in Waterloo, we have grown to offices in Toronto, Japan, China, and Germany. Our founding team has invented over 500+ patents (more than Airbnb and Snapchat combined!) and built three different unicorns ($1B+ market cap), and wireless sensing is our passion - we want to change the world for the better.

The Projects Team

The success of our wireless sensing innovations and their impact on daily life relies heavily on our Projects team. This team is a critical bridge between our internal team and external clients and partners, ensuring that their needs are being met and that projects are delivered with excellence.

As a Testing Coordinator, you will:

  • Contribute to validation testing and evaluation procedures.

  • Collaborate with members of the Projects and Engineering teams to conduct testing and development work.

  • Evaluate test data, identifying patterns, trends, and potential areas for enhancement.

  • Produce detailed and thorough test reports, emphasizing key findings, issues, and recommendations.

  • Apply technical expertise, especially in radar and hardware, to enhance testing methodologies and optimize testing processes.

Why you should consider this opportunity:

  • This role is a great fit for post-secondary students looking for hands-on technical experience in a fast-growing start-up.

  • It is a part-time commitment and will be in person at our Waterloo, ON office. We are flexible to adjust the weekly time commitment on a semester basis in case your schedule changes.

  • There is an opportunity for the role to transition to a full-time permanent role.

What we’re looking for:

  • You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Kitchener or Waterloo.

  • You are a process-oriented person and excel in organization and tracking.

  • You have a curious mindset, are motivated to learn, and are not afraid to try new things.

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • You have experience working in a corporate or start-up environment.

  • It’s a bonus if you have a coding background! A computer science or engineering degree is not mandatory, we welcome any experience with code, even if it’s just a minor or a hobby.

  • It’s a bonus if you have technical testing experience.

What you can expect in our process:

  • Step 1: Apply with an updated resume. We’d like to get to know more about your experience - whether it’s side projects, hobbies, or other part-time or full-time jobs. We like seeing what you learned, the impact of your work, and who you worked with.

  • Step 2: Selected candidates will be invited to a 20-minute introductory call with Kate Chen, our Senior Growth Manager. She will assess your verbal communication skills, talk to you briefly about your experience, and get to know about what interests you about Pontosense.

  • Step 3: Final candidates will be invited to an in-person hiring day in Waterloo. You will meet with more members of the team and have a final assessment.
