Position Summary:

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, your primary duties would include assisting with general commercial matters, including, but not limited to, the drafting and negotiating of services, new product and technology-related agreements, including master services agreements, partnership agreements, confidentiality agreements, business associate agreements, SaaS agreements, data protection agreements, software licenses, subcontractor agreements, supplier agreement, and related statements of work.
Required Skills and Experience:
- JD and active member of an applicable law society or a U.S. state bar
- 3-5 years of experience
- Experience independently negotiating complex business transactions on deadlines
- Demonstrated capacity to actively solve complicated legal and business problems
- Flexibility to assist the Legal Department in its activities and its mission as needs arise
- Keen judgement, integrity and tact
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Self-starter/ability to work independently/solutions driven
- Persuasive, influential and collaborative
- Strong client service orientation
- Experience and interest in process improvement, legal tech and prompt engineering an asset
Preferred Experience:
- Health care information technology licensing
- SaaS licensing
- Canadian and U.S. information privacy compliance
- Canadian and U.S. health care regulatory compliance (with a focus on HIPAA, PHIPA and provincial equivalents)
