Job Summary
We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial, and experienced consulting professional to lead and expand our Consulting Business Unit. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing multimillion-dollar portfolios, consistently driving revenue growth, and fostering executive-level client relationships. This role offers a leadership pathway for an ambitious professional who is eager to shape and grow a dynamic consulting practice.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Growth
- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities to achieve or exceed revenue and profitability targets.
- Develop go-to-market strategies and account plans to penetrate whitespace in existing accounts and open doors to new clients.
- Build, nurture, and leverage a robust network of C-level and senior executive relationships to create sustainable business pipelines.
- Collaborate across internal teams and service lines to position integrated solutions that address clients’ strategic needs.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, understanding their business challenges and designing tailored consulting solutions.
- Cultivate and maintain lasting relationships with key decision-makers (CIO, CFO, CEO, and others) to deepen engagement and uncover further opportunities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client escalations and ensure the highest level of satisfaction.
3. Portfolio & Engagement Management
- Drive year-over-year growth by proactively identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding existing scopes of work.
- Monitor financial performance of projects, ensuring effective resource management and profitability.
4. Leadership & Team Management
- Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff, fostering a collaborative culture of learning and innovation.
- Ensure the team is properly aligned to clients’ needs, deploying subject matter experts as required to meet client objectives.
5. Strategic Initiatives & Thought Leadership
- Contribute to the development of new service offerings and market strategies, staying ahead of industry trends.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions, positioning the organization as a leader in the consulting space.
- Share insights, market intelligence, and lessons learned across the organization to enhance overall business development efforts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in management or strategy consulting (Big 4 or equivalent background strongly desired), with at least 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Financial Acumen: Proven experience managing a portfolio of large-scale consulting engagements ($3M+).
- Business Development: Demonstrable history of revenue generation, including developing and executing growth strategies and meeting/exceeding sales targets.
- Client Network: Extensive network of C-level contacts and the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility.
- Leadership & Team Building: Strong track record of leading, mentoring, and motivating diverse, high-performing teams.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Innovation & Problem-Solving: Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, new service offerings, and enhanced client satisfaction in a dynamic market.
