Role/Department Description:
Data Solutions aims to deliver high-value, connected data to fuel growth, improve client experiences, and provide a comprehensive suite of offerings that incorporate proprietary and third-party data sets, normalized through a common data model that ultimately enables clients to access market, company, and alternative data through various delivery methods.
FactSet engineers demonstrate the ability to criticize code and production for improvement, as well as to receive and apply feedback effectively to develop expertise on our products.
We’re looking for passionate back-end engineers with proficiency, experience, and fluency in server-side development, cloud infrastructure management, API design, coding best practices, and utilizing code libraries.
Focus is on creating new back-end software that helps increase the volume of collected data with consistent quality, stability, and adherence to best practices. This will allow the engineer to gain a mastery of the products to which one is contributing and begin to participate in forward design discussions for how to improve based on one’s observations of the code, systems, and production involved.
Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrate knowledge of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principles
Write clean, efficient, well-documented code with thorough test coverage, adhering to industry best practices
Ensuring that deployed products are properly maintained throughout their lifecycle
Participate in design and code reviews of multiple projects across teams
Should be a quick learner and open to learn new things
Troubleshoot and Debug frontend and legacy applications to resolve issues and optimize performance
Build new infrastructure using cloud technology
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related field
Fluent in English
Technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Back-end development knowledge
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C#
General knowledge of databases and SQL (PostgreSQL, MS SQL, NoSQL)
Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and GitHub would be appreciated
Familiarity with cloud technologies, such as AWS and Azure, would be highly valued
Knowledge of JavaScript in a Web Development framework such as Vue would be valued
