Job Description:
FactSet’s Portware is an advanced, broker-neutral, multi-asset execution management system (EMS) that equips trading teams at leading investment management firms worldwide, with a centralized view of orders and executions coupled with state-of-the-art market impact, liquidity, and execution performance analytics. We’ve developed this platform to expertly analyze, communicate, and execute orders with diverse market participants and liquidity destinations—all through highly efficient, customized, and automated workflows.
We are seeking ‘Director of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)’ to lead reliability, scalability, and performance initiatives for our Portware Enterprise product suite. This leadership role involves formulating strategic objectives related to reliability, optimizing operational processes, and guiding a team of SRE engineers to execute best practices across all areas of infrastructure and development.
Responsibilities:
- Own the reliability, performance, monitoring, and capacity planning of real time trading system.
- Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Communicate reliability initiatives, system performance metrics, strategic and tactical action items to stakeholders, providing transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams and business groups across the organization, influence roadmaps to include reliability projects
- Establish, track, and enforce SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs that align with real time trading performance and reliability.
- Define monitoring and alerting strategies to proactively detect and mitigate failures
- Develop automated solutions to minimize recovery time, data loss and improve incident response
- Improve peak load performance, scalability, failover and disaster recovery objectives
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SRE professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Minimal Requirements:
10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
3+ years of experience leading and managing high performance SRE teams
Critical Skills:
Proven track record in leading sophisticated SRE projects, real time enterprise services at a large scale
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident management skills
Good knowledge in at least one object-oriented programming language (preferably Java, Python)
Strong proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions and other Infrastructure as Code tools
Extensive experience with AWS and on-prem environments hosting real time trading platforms
Hands-on experience with observability stacks (e.g., Grafana, Kibana, Influx DB, Cloud Watch, Light Step)
Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing).
Additional Skills/Desired:
Good fundamentals on Release Management and continuous Integration
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, Ability to work cross-functionally with application engineering, infrastructure, security, and product teams
Education:
Bachelors or degree in computer science or equivalent

Salary is just one component of our compensation package and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications.
The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $180,000.00 - 230,000.00
