Role Overview:
We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Technology Consultant to take a pivotal role in our Buy-side Reporting Client and Managed Services team. This position offers an opportunity to become a subject-matter expert in FactSet’s premier financial software solutions, particularly focusing on Client Reporting. You will be expected to assist our clients with their business and technical requests, questions, and queries from the Reporting suite of products that Client Solutions covers. One of the main responsibilities of this role is to ensure the nominal operation of environments, by using our monitoring platforms and running ad-hoc checks on servers, databases and other components of the reporting platforms we service.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and advise on client environments, troubleshooting and ensuring smooth operation using our advanced monitoring platforms.
Engage in project-based work including change requests and software upgrades, ensuring seamless integration and user satisfaction.
Facilitate system integrations within FactSet using APIs, Web Services, and other tools, involving tasks such as programming and database management.
Automate client environments, design complex workflows, and manage the complete data flow within our software.
Tackle complex technical issues related to client’s technical architecture, software testing, and specific investigations.
Collaborate closely with global sales and consultant teams to provide daily operational support to our clients.
Deepen product knowledge across different modules and enhance technical aspects like system architecture and database tuning.
Required Skills:
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Mathematics.
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
Exceptional communication skills, especially in client-facing scenarios.
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Fluency in English both written and verbal.
Desired Skills:
Stored Procedures writing and debugging
Performance tuning of SQL code
Familiar with some of the major DBMS like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
Application server setup (e.g. Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly)
Web Services, APIs, XML, JSON
HTML syntax familiarity
Experience with programming or scripting languages, e.g. shell, Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, VBA, etc.
Knowledge of financial instruments or related software
Any experience in Financial Reporting
Technical skills with financial software applications
Working with Excel (data and chart manipulation through VBA and other functions)
Windows Servers, IIS
